Slicing bud for even drying?

My problem is here in the Great Valley, it's DRY! So dry the hydrometer won't even register!
When I try to hang weed it gets crispy on the outside but in the bud It's wet!

I was wondering if slicing the big buds into 1 1/2"-2" slices would allow it to dry more evenly? Any problems with this idea?

You just need to create a way to continue drying whole buds slower

Maybe whole plant hanging in a garbage bag then transfered to a paper grocery bag
isn't a good idea to quick dry or even shorten drying time

Use paper lawn /leaf bags. Not plastic bags. LOL.

Just minimize the drying space and the buds will raise the humidity. One peek a day. No more. LOL.

I have to buck all the buds off the stems to check them for rot. So I dry mine in cardboard veggie flats for a couple three days, then paper bag them. It's still raining every other day, so I have some that I chopped last week still in bags.

But I do think taking them off the stems will lead to more even drying. You may have to go into the paper bags from the start.

It is an acquired skill. As it is different next door.

Why not hang dry in a tent or small room and control rh with a humidifier?

Dry on the outside but moist inside?

it’s still drying bro. Not done. What r u expecting? Drys from the inside out?
What’s your air temp? I know you said it’s dry. But what % humidity? I hang dry no trimming for 10-12 days. Best I can do in my area. Of coarse lower small stuff is done first. So I work my way down.

do you mean it’s like microwave crispy on the outside. Or just it’s the first part to dry first. Because that’s normal. I used to buy 15-20 Home Depot boxes to dry in But iv improved methods since then lol.

I have a large cardboard box about 2.3 cu feet, I set it on end and run some strings to hang the bud. I found some cheap digital hydrometers and will put one at the inlet and one at the exhaust vent. I have a 2" multispeed fan and will install it to blow in and put a hydrometer at the inlet and the exit vent to track if the exhaust Rh is higher than the inlet Rh.
If necessary I can put a pan of water with a wick at the input to raise the Rh in.
