Ok I have two plants unknown strain, but are growing very slow, they were seeds from some bomb mex weed I smoked, first grow before I buy better equipment I wanna get one under my belt look at my journal for complete details, basically they are growing very slow I think and dont know why,, thanks in advance for any help RIU

I think plant growth is all about lighting, do you have CFLS? (The white swirly lights) if you do you might need about 4 of them just to start out a small plant. what kind of soil are you using?

Mg organic, I have 3x 24watt cfl all pisitioned with reflectors one on each side and one hanging above, all within 2 to 3 in from the plants, my big girl is beautiful jjust small I planted them a lil before christmas, but she(hoping) is about 4 or 5 in tall and 4in around the otber is half that size

Probably due to strain and light. I grew a Chemdog and White Widow(WW) at the same time with CFLs. Same conditions for both but the Chemdog out grew the WW by 2 to 3 times the size. Only when I added more light and closer to the WW did she respond and grew faster.

What are the temps in your room, during day and night?

They are still one 24 hour lights, and the temp ranges from high 60 to mid 70 depending if I have the cabinet doors open, I also have intake fan at the bottom and exhaust holes at the top,, its a cabinet on the floor 1x3x4

Should I be giving them a dark period, like maybe 20/4
I've never done 24/0 for any plant or seedling, 18/6 is what I provide until they are ready for flowering. The way I look at it is I'm trying to create the outside environment indoors and this should include some dark periods.

Don't know why but I find my girls seem to grow the most during the dark period.

If you do decide to switch to 20/4 allow the plant some time to adjust, about a week or so. Afterwards you should see some difference.

i think you need more lights, looking at your 1 journal post it says u have just 3 24w cfls and that is not nearly enough light for 2 plants. id recomend at least doubling(tripling would be better) the amount of light available to your babies. id stick with 24hours of light myself until your ready to flower since this is what youve been doing shortening the light cycle might induce flowering before your ready for it
this is an opinion based on research not experience as i wont be starting my first grow for a couple weeks

theyll adjust before a week to the light.

give some rest time. 20/4 or 18/6 is ideal.

what stage is the plant in? seedling or veg?

Veg i belive i really dont know, i planted then about a week or so before Christmas, so you tell me i think it has 3or4 nodes already if I'm correct on what a node is lol I'm still learning and i know I'm no where close to even scratching the surface but thus grow has got me intrigued, and i know for sure this will not be my last attempt

it will veg until you switch the lighting schedule to 12/12. then it will flower, and you can sex it. you want a female to smoke.

Ok so how much longer should they be in veg for,,, my bigger lady already has one set of 5blade leaves working on the second and third set as we speak lol the smaller one is working on the first

whenever you want man you be the judge. itll grow like another 1/3 of its size then start to lay down fruits (hopefully female ones)

Well I only have 4 ft to work with so I wanna keep them between 3 and 3.5 ft tall,, and ive read that in flowering they can double and triple in size, so how tall would I wanna veg them out to?? Maybe like 8 or 10 inches just to be safe??
