Oh went to go check on my plants about an hour ago. Had a bed rain storm recently anyways there were about 50 slugs around my babies. How do I get rid of these without destroying or damaging my plants?

Go to the garden center and get slug bait. Try a few differnt kinds. spead it all around and under logs around your plants

place a cirlce of salt around your plant
like within a foot of the perimeter. they walk into it and shrivel up nicely

What do the traps look like?
Are any brands better than others?
Have you tried them?

Does the salt fuck up the plants?
Would it be better if I put it on some sticks or plastic or something around the plants so it doesn't dissolve into the soil?

to get you by until you go to the garden place.
take a 16 oz. plastic cup and bury it so the top is flush with the ground. fill half way with beer. put a piece of tree bark over the top off the cup so there is an opening for them to crawl under the bark and into the beer trap. they die happy. you will have to empty it out everyday and refill. after a while you will get fewer slugs in the cups and none on your plants.

you may need to set a couple of traps early on.

Thanks guys!
Going to try the beer in cup idea but I am only our to see my plants once or twice a week so I might use a bigger container.
And I am probably going to do the salt idea as well unless that is going to kill my plants?

I wouldnt put salt around your plant root base that would damage them. also the beer in the cup work ok till it rain then you have cup full or water. Trust me go buy some slug and snail bait from the garden center. this will work way way better that any of the half ass idea's. The stuff is natural and wont harm your plants at all and kill slugs and sails fast.
Slug will chew your plant up so fast when they are young

Went out this morning to check on my girls and this is what I found left of one of them.:cuss:
Found that fucker and smashed the shit out of him. I topped this plant about 6 days ago, but I don't know if it will come back or not.

pouring salt isnt a bad idea-just do it far away 4 your plot, or a very nice idea is-put some plastick bags around (cut srtips) and then pour some salt on top of it-in that way salt doesent get to the soil.D:

Grow space...I'm not breaking your balls or nothing...but putting salt anywhere near your plants is NOT a good thing. There are plenty of other things to use to avoid salt use. Its alright to use salt if you're 12 and want to watch the slugs melt. But as far as plant health is concerned, salt is prolly the worst thing you can use.

FUCK!!! I went to check on my girls about 5 mins ago and those damn slugs took to another of my plants. The damage wasnt that bad, they only got one little leaf, but now it's clear i need to run to my garden store and pick up some slug/snail pesticide. I only have 2 more plants and I'm not willing to give up any more. I'm waging war against these fuckers.

I am going to try to get some of that slug killer but I am broke so I am probably going to make a big ring of salt around my grow area away from all of the roots.
And probably set some of those beer traps as well.

since you cant get to your plants everyday, then for the beer trap use something that is a tall container and big enough that a full beer will fill it only about 1/2 way.
bury it so there is about 1/4 inch above the ground.
lay 2 sticks one on each side of the cup.
then a piece of bark large enough to cover all the way over the cup, but the 2 sticks keep it propped up in the air about an inch. the bark will keep the rain out for the most part. unless you live near me where it seems to be raining for a month now.

I'm out on the east coast it has been raining for like a week.
I am going to try to do the beer thing with a 2-liter bottle.

Next time I go out I am going to take some more pics and link it here so that everyone that has helped me can see what they have helped me do.
