Small small live resin run - Diamond attempt

Didn’t know about this until I stumbled on it reading something last weekend.

So I have a plant ready for harvest. About 4 days ago I put two good sized buds chopped up into a small column and threw that and a can of butane in the freezer.

24 hrs later I run it through my closed loop and poured it in the jar. Capped it and put it on a heating pad at 98 degrees. I burped it here and there.

This was a very very small run. I don’t think I left enough solvent in there.

What is it called at this point?

Smells fuckin wonderful.

Looks pretty unusual. Dont really understand the sealed jar and burping.
Isn't a vac chamber and low heat the normal way to do it?

That's sugar wax at this point. I actually prefer sugar wax to crystals in terp sauce, you're half way there.

Check out THCa diamonds and jar tek. I know nothing about it, Just wanted to give it a shot.

Yep

I am curious how one would separate the crystals from the mixture at this point. Isnt super clear to me

When I put it in the jar I didn’t leave enough solvent.

I guess what I have is sugar wax with mostly dried up terp sauce. Its there I just can’t separate them.

You can, or take it farther to crystallize diamonds. Idk how well you'll get formation with that little of an amount. I was also just informed the other day that you can use a "seed" diamond to make the formation go faster as well, that handy lil tip can from @Tangerine_

Once you have diamonds the terp sauce is separated, it's part of the process that happens on it's own. You can pour it off through a strainer to completely separate if that's what you want.

Well here it is. I dabbed it a few times. Tasty. It melted fine. I cannot figure out why there is no butane left in there. I never vac purged. Only thing I did was put the jar on the heating pad at 98 for 3 days and burp it. Guess that was enough.

Maybe tomorrow I’ll take half of this and pull a vac on it and see what happens. No heat.

Little in little out. Lol. I feel a bigger run in the near future. More learning to do……

that came out nice.
I rough trimmed a GG4 tonight and threw it in the freezer. I'm making fresh frozen tomorrow and I'm going to use half for the jar tech. I also have some MB15 diamonds leftover I'm going to seed it with

I did another small run last night. Ran approx 1.5ozs. I ended up pouring into two 4oz jars. Heating pad under the bucket is on low. Bottoms of the jars read 81. I’ll grab pics every 12 hours.

Also, this is not a live resin run.

Maybe I should turn the heat up a bit.

Looks like your getting a lil formation going. Not sure if you know the back story on sugar wax..... When things went legal and companies started mass producing extracts they had what they thought was a problem. Jars of shatter were considered unstable and needed to be moved fast because if they sat too long they would turn to what we now call sugar wax. At the time it was considered a bad thing, but that was only until they started to realize the insane amount of flavor that was in the sugar wax. Naturally we graduated to crystals and terp sauce, I still prefer sugar wax to the big crystals though.

I was initially shooting for diamonds. Ended up with sugar wax which I am very happy with. At this point that is what I’m after.

A couple times a month I make crumble to top my bowls.

Think I found my new bowl topper.
