Smaller pots or more hydroton?

I got some big pots in my tray theyre 8x8. Should i get smaller pots or should the hydroton be flush with the pots/tray?

50 Liters It leaves about 3 inches of space in my 2x4 tray

If you insist on using the whole tray filled with hydroton than there's abosulutly no need for pots at all, no matter what size you us.

lol @ 50L ... I almost did that. Switched vendors and bought everything there and they had 10L bags. Worked out just fine.
