I have also wanted to grow in a limited space. I'm new and am sort of familiar with the way it works. What type of bulb would you buy for a stealth pc type grow for the veg and flowering.

Your best bet is to get a small 2-3ft high, 18" deep, 18" wide filing cabinet, and spray the inside matte white. Unless you're experienced with growing REALLY small plants, PC case grows don't yield too much (about 6-8g per plant TOPS).

Then get about 80-120w of CFL light (2 42" bulbs) and a few fans.

Expect to pay about 150$ for a good stealth filing cab setup.

How about reflective material such as [FONT=Arial, Arial, Helvetica]B/W Poly/Film will that be better?

Also I'm a bit unclear about the lighting.......... I need 2 bulbs of 120W or 80W CFL?

The light is temporarly in the corner because I dont have my stud finder :( gotta go pick it up

This is a simple Hydroponics deep water system. I'll be growing 8 plants instead of just one so here is a simple hydroponic solution which will make your little baby grow alot quicker than soil.

Get a 5 gallon bucket make sure it has a lid. A water pump from one of your local fish stores or tanks, depending on the pump 1 or 2 fish tank air hoses (the little clear ones) and a couple air stones. go to home depote and have them drill you a 5 inch hole right smack dab in the middle of the lid. Go to one of your local head shops and make sure before you drill your hole at home depote that your headshop or hydroponics store has a 5 inch hydroponic basket. 5 inch is a personal prefrence for me and it works great.

Get a couple squares of rockwool and some growing medium, I personally like hydroton clay pebels. Germinate the seeds in the rock wool. Fill the 5" basket half way up, put your rockwool cube in the basket and then continue to fill the rest of it up around the rockwool with the growing medium.

Now, fill your bucket up just enough so that when the basket is placed in the 5 inch hole when your lid is on the bucket, that it is barley touching the water. The reason for this is that,

Don't worry, the reason I told you to get the netted hydroponics basket is, one, im showing you a hydroponics setup that is working for me and is one of the most effective growing methods out there, and 2, because they have a nice little lip that will suspend the basket in the hole without letting it fall right through. Shweet hu?

Here is alittle picture from my setup to give you an idea of what you'll be looking at with a finished product (minus the water! lol)

For more help on how to maintain this system scan the forums or you can ask me anything you like!

Hope this helps bro, it's a great method and I love sharing information with first timers to make things go smoother.

Bro Im sorry Im confused, was that suppose to be posted here or was it posted accidently...... just making sure and trying to clearify because I was trying to setup just 1 plant........ the "smallest possible" setup that could work great for just "1 plant".... It's feminized version so I dont really have to worry about male (skunk #1 feminized) its a "indica"

Oh and as far as compact flourecent lights go, anything over 150w die quicker then the smaller wattages, just a tip to keep you from going back to the store too much! most of us stoners are alittle tight on cash.

here are a couple pics of ones you could use, make sure you get the "Light Blue/Daylight" spectrum ones. They let off that really nice blueish white light which has the right spectrum for our little girls to grow, and hell they're cheap to run too.

these are just a couple quick examples.

A couple key things to know about CFL ( Compact Flourecent Lights )

1. They DO NOT let off alot of heat at all, which alows us to set the light pretty much on top of the plant, about 1 1/2, 2 inches away.
2. They are CHEAP to run. It's gonna be hella nice not having to pay the bill im paying for this light running behind me, plus you wont go blind from hanging out in the room with the lights like I am. lol i need to move the laptop right now, im getting a tan.
3. Wicked low profile, you can put 2, 3, 4 CFL's in your little grow setup real nice and snug to the plant, make sure you distribute the lighting correctly all around the plant, so there are no "Shady" parts to the plant.

Hope all this helps, im going blind, ask me anything ya need bro. And good luck!

Well for how effective this setup is, a 5 gallon bucket is really small.

figured if you were gonna do 1 plant, this method would make that girl shoot up and grow crazy, might as well do the best set up so you get the most out of it in the end right?
Good luck bra

I see where i confused you, read the entire post through, I showed you pictures of my setup just to give you a visual image of a larger deep water system. The one I explained to you is for a single plant and is a very small setup.

Hope this helps bro!

So bro I'm still a bit unclear.......... considering the 1 plant project I mentioned , what would be the ideal wattage for CFL? I want to do this in a small place such as the computer case............... can I get these CFL lights at a normal store like Wal-Mart or do I have to visit a hydroponic store? also what do I connect the bulb to inside the computer case? I forgot to mention I am going to be using a "soil-less mix" such as pro-mix......... do I need stuff like nutrients for such a small groW? What about ventilation for such a small grow, is that required? Will a couple of computer fans be enough?

Ok I got ya, ideal wattage for a CFL is around 150w or lower, any higher and the bulbs tend to die out quicker. So really it depends on the grower, if you wan't to spend more money on bulbs with a shorter life span for alittle more wattage or spend less money for a longer lasting bulb with less wattage. Yes any of your local stores such as wal-mart, home depote etc. will have these bulbs in the light section. Look for the ones that say "cool blue" and or Daylight spectrum. As far as connecting the bulbs inside the case, I'm not sure, i've never done a computer case grow, my best bet is to ask around here or just search for computer case grow journals. And yes the computer fans will be enough for 1 plant, If you know alittle about computers just flip the fan so it blows inward, by taking off the screws and flipping it over and screwing it back in. Good look bro! and I hope this helps.

p.s. - If i were you, I would grow lowryder #2 for such a small setup, really the only plant worth growing in such a small grow space.
