smoke males?

this may be silly but... will male plants grow smokable bud? i remember back in the day getting bud and having to pick all the seed out. everyone says to kill or remove the males but why? will they harm the females? i have 3 plants, one covered in white hairs and the others not doing anything yet. i have one separate plant in another place that seems to be growing seeds/flowers which i know is male for sure but won't contaminate the others.

A bud with seeds is not only a pain in the ass to harvest and smoke but contains significantly less THC. The only males I have ever heard of being smokable were Black-Widow, and I couldn't confirm that. Males do produce THC but far less and they can contaminate your grow space so badly that you will find it hard to ever produce an unseeded female again.

It only takes one pod of male pollen to screw with your crop (one can pollinate hundreds of females), even if the male and female are in two different spaces... if they are in the same home/apartment you run the risk, a big one. Never keep males unless you want to make a cross and then only if you can filter the air through a HEPA filter and keep the male truly isolated. The pollen gets everywhere, clothes, skin, hair, even on any pets you have, it is insidious. Your just wasting money and resources keeping it alive.

thanks for your input. so females produce seeds but they need to be near a male? males produce seeds too? my male is in the back yard and what i believe to be females are on the other side of my house on an upper balcony. is that distance enough?

Males do not produce seeds. The pollinate(jizz) the female plants and the females stop producing THC and make seeds.

And yes you need a male to produce seeds.

Quite true.. i would'nt smoke a male bud.. if i were you i would sacrifice one of your females and cross the male with it... then you can save your new seeds for next years crop... this is what i do.. works like a charm... increasing your number of plants by a significant amount.... then again picking out the males from the females is a pain in the ass... kinof fun though the first few times

To answer the question, yeh that should be far enough away, but avoid physical contact with the male... but if your not making seeds, then who gives a fuck, let it die.

Kill the male, make hash out of the leaves if you want to. But Kill the male, lol.

yes my friend you do want to kill or get rid of the males...BUT...dont just disregard it..No....NO....make some hash my friend....i made some with my two 7'males and got some pretty good hash..I made iso hash but u make whatever u wnat..get SOMETHING out of them intruding bastards....lol...smoke on ..peace

well i decided to put a little runt lady beside my one scronny male (far far away from my 2 strong fems) to see if they'll make some seed babise for next year. i figure i'll let them live in harmony since i don't have the heart to kill anything living. sooooooo, how does one make hash? i know it needs compression but what's the best way? i've also heard of packing in honey. anyone try that?

Im doing this with males and leaves;

You can make honey oil it's pretty cool....all you need is some pvc pipe length depends on how much trimmings,get two caps that fit on both ends of the pvc, some butane (the ones for electric lighters) duck tape,and coffee filters. Drill a small hole in one side(big enough for the tip of a butane bottle,then drill abunch of holes on the other end(like a saltshaker). then tape 2 coffee filters on the saltshaker side,then fill with trimmings,seal that side as well......then the crazy shit, place the butane tip in the small hole upside down(has to be airtight or you got a loaded gun on your hands also no open flames...DERRRR! deploy the butane into the pvc,coffee filter side down and shake,have a plate to catch all the liquid on that comes out......might look crazy but let it dry,scrape it off your plate and enjoy your newly produced hashish oil. I usaully roll a good bud around in it good stuff......good luck
