SO i want too try this DWC Stuff for CLONING

This is actually totally wrong!

For rooting cuttings its all about water temps 76 degree's is perfect I also like to keep the air temp cooler like 70 and just use some crapy clf!
For growing yes cool water 68 but roots thrive at 76 that is the secret to getting roots in 5 to 8 days!!!
 
These guys have it right on the size of the air pump. I use a dual diaphragm pump on my set up and it works great!

A word on cloning; I cloned plants very successfully in a smaller 1.5 gallon container using a cheap aquarium pump and smaller airstones, because of the smaller size container it worked like a charm, I was able to clone 6 plants per container with excellent results. The more plants you want to clone at a time the more it will cost to be successful.

thanks for the Advice mate

ok here is what i have now i went for a smaller container and i have a flexible Air Curtain that seems to be doing the job well i think it is

so here is a pic

and here is a video of it working i havent light proofed it yet but i will short i jus want to get this air pump size and everything sorted lol

the container is a 4 litre Rez
and its a shallow container tell me what you think

the pump used is the 210 LPH Air pump

tell me what you guys think will this work for me

my budget is really tight i have the other pump i can add to the rez that a 160
LPH keep in mind the rez is only a 4 litre rez

so i was jus watching a video on youtube on the sure to grow channel

and the guys was saying you need 28 litres of Oxygen per 1 gallon of Working water

he said you could go as low as 15litresper 1 gallon of working water and it would still work but 28 is optimal

So i jus worked out 1 gallon is 3.8 somthing litres LOL
my res is 4 litres so i multiply by 28 an i get 112 litres

but then i think is that 28litres a inute or hour ?

the pump im using is a 210LPH or3.5LPM i hope this is enuff
im going to clone some coleus jus to see how it works im soo Excited i cant wait to see roots hehe
 
Just looking at your photo, I can see that you're getting plenty of oxygen in that water. You can add some hydrogen peroxide to it if you don't think it's enough.

With that container, though, you will get light onto your roots, which is not good. You'll want to cover it somehow to keep the light out.

Never tried it, I can only tell you my experience. Used root hormone powder, cut clones at 45 degree angle from the stem, split the clone stem up the center about 1/4 inch, dipped in water, shook off excess water, dipped in root powder, popped in cloner, added H2o2, (hydrogen peroxide), added a little fish emulsion and watched it grow like a "weed", under a coupla cfls. Transplanted to soil in a week.

After that experience, never grew in soil again, DWC/bubbleponics all the way!

It comes in a dark brown plastic bottle, for about .99 cents. If you rinse your mouth with it, it bubbles or foams on contact. It's water based. The form that you can buy in store is like a 3% to 5% solution. The food industry uses a high grade 35% solution, considered food grade. The food grade solution is very strong and not available in stores. H2o2 will increase oxygen levels in water.
 
Yes, it helps oxygenate, or add oxygen to water. Hydrogen peroxide plus air stones equal super-oxygenated water, great for your clones!

What medium are you using? Do you know if theres any problems with rooting in peat pots?

H202 increases oxygen level do a chemical reaction which breaks the bond between the two oxygen molecules and results in an H20 molecule and an O molecule. H202 reacts with anything organic that contains peroxidasis, which in this scenario usually means aerobes which include alot of the stuff you dont want in your water. Also why it helps with root rot etc.

has anyone had any experience or seen anyone have success with air manifolds instead of bubblestones? See attached picture.

Yeah, what Tahmi Guhn said!

And henery is correct about the temps for rooting clones, that temp also goes for seedlings too, the warmer temps do help root formation for seedlings and new cuttings.
