So you think it's only the minorities, eh?

I learned years ago when I had a dream of becoming a teacher and getting an associate degree studying for my masters degree before figuring that only a handful of graduates would actually achieve their goals.
I went to a trades seminar given by F.E.G.S. Learned a trade and never looked back. I got a great Union job and now I'm retired because of a workplace accident at 40% base salary and still pull down just under $4,100 a month, I was on the job 22.5 years.
My Daughter was in College, running up student loans (Which follow you for life and you can't file for bankruptcy). I sat her down and told her to get into a trade school, so she did, she just graduated this past summer from B.O.C.E.S. Her first job is paying $48+k a year, in the medical field (sonography).
This moron would rather bitch about his circumstances than to find an alternative. Waste of life.

You dismiss the fact this guy has multiple degrees and the implications that creates for the every-man in America without degrees? What's that say about the millions without a college education? That they're second-class citizens not worthy of a living wage? Someone who works 40 hours a week doesn't deserve the right to afford food, shelter and the basic necessities to survive? Is that what you're saying?
It means what I have been telling you for years Pada... Dont waste time with college when you have such a shit opinion of work. It doesnt automatically grant you a job.

There are still tens of millions of people making good wages without a college degree in America.

Sad to say but a 4 year college is nothing but a money pit when you can't pay up front. Tech school is the better option and you can still be left with thousands to pay but at least it's not ten's of thousands.

Here is the honest truth. Learn what it is you like to do in life and do it. You do not need a college degree to start and be sure it is what you want to do. Work hard and progress through the ranks and you will gain income along with mastery of your career.

Unfortunately, Pada looks everywhere but inside himself for direction and he will be constantly disappointed in life as he is not given things that other people earn. He doesnt see the part where they earned it so does not realize what it takes to get there. So, he is dropping money down a hole toward a college degree that will not help him succeed in life. I feel bad for you Pada.

I was 40 years old & maxed out at work, as high as I could go without a degree. So I enrolled in night school while I worked full time. It took me almost 5 years to complete my BBA. I was given an "acting" promotion to Assistant Superintendent as soon as I had 1 year left to complete & received another promotion to Full Superintendent, 1 year after graduation.
Oh & we were working 4/10's the whole time at work. I was putting in 18hr days. I never would have been Superintendent without that college degree...
