Whats up guys new here, I've completed two successful grows about 4 or 5 years ago but I don't remember a lot so I consider myself a newb again

Going to be growing hempy as that is what I was most successful with,

gonna be growing

Blueberry Gum
Berry Bomb
Mazar Kush
Afghan Kush x White Widow

My concern is that I have had some serious bad luck in the past trying to grow in rockwool, I've read and read and tried numerous times (few years ago) to successfully start a seedling in rockwool and it either A. never starts or B. dies shortly after. I followed other peoples suggestions to a T and I still somehow end up with nothing.

I've been successful in taking soil grown plants and transplanting them to hempy by cleaning their roots of soil and have (to my surprise) never had one be effected by this type of transplant. I really would like to start the seeds in rockwool but I don't want to throw money down the drain

My question is what type of soil can be purchased locally (home depot ect) that will be safe for the seedlings? When I grew in soil before I drove 2 hours to pick up Fox farm soil every few weeks and I really don't want to do that for the short amount of time I will need soil.

Is there any other type of medium that could be beneficial to start a seedling in that will eventually be grown hempy?

Thanks guys

Any good potting soil will work. Avoid the soils that are laced with ferts. (WILL FEED UP TO 4 MONTHS etc) Miracle grow sells a seeding starter soil that will work fine.

And this time don't clean the soil from the roots, you can just transplant the small soil core into the perlite hempy bucket. I've been doing it this way for a long time now. I even transplant the little soil starter into 2 1/2 qts of soil to veg for several wks and then transplant into 3gal hempy, and I cap the top couple inches in soil. I've had the best results in hempy going the soil-ponics method, and its very easy.
