Soil pH adjustments in mid flower

The FoxFarm is some hot soil. I don't add any nutes until after I've pinched them off and get a couple new branches. I've never checked the pH of the initial runoff when initially saturating it. I hate to discard it!

As far as the MG, I don't use a lot of fertilizer. I run at the indoor plant level, 1/2 teaspoon to a gallon or so. that may change if I can keep the soil pH under control.

Checked today on the newest run just going into 12 hr and the run off was 6.0. Watering with straight water and the nutrailime. I'll start with the flower fert and at pH of 8.0.

The other ones are about done in. Buds so heavy they are laying over. Maybe another week.

download_20210828_122248.pngH m m m m m- - - - - I'm pretty sure it's a old wives Tale But I have heard tale that is possible that too much calcium will Direct non feminized seed more towards the male side? But I haven't really studied it! Because I am from the Ice Age and I generally use feminized seeds oh, yes we had feminized seeds back then as well cuz we had hermaphrodites at that date and time as well! So what have you heard about too much calcium I'm sure it's not too good?
Other then that you sound quite interesting do you reuse your soil?

I don't know how this got separated from what I thought I put it?! But it was supposed to go to dash – – budz Buddha ha– but anybody can chime in that's for sure I mean it wasn't exclusively for him LOL but I was commenting on what he said and since he seems to know a lot about calcium I was curious on his answer?.

Actually what I have is Potassium Bicarbonate.

It's what flower and veggie growers use as I understand it to adjust their pH and what was suggested to me. I got it from a brewers supply company.

Go ahead and use sodium bicarbonate. In my water mix I use ammonia to raise pH.

But if doing the watering right, and watering till a good runoff then there is no need to use either in the soil. This is what I was not doing. The bicarbonates would only be for a hard correction and not continual use.

But what is more beneficial to a pot plant, potassium or sodium in the free form?
you can also use potassium bicarbonate in the kitchen instead of baking soda. talk about bang for the buck! lol

Okay I'll think about that one!View attachment 4988136
I don't think I would want to use potassium carbonate in place of baking soda, but potassium bicarbonate might be a possibility I would have to look at all the safety precautions on the label
Then look it up anyway! like diatomaceous earth if you use it you better use the one that says food-grade on the bag seriously it has to say it on the bag or it's not food grade... people actually eat that diatomaceous earth like a teaspoon a day...
And also there's something called Serenade, which actually says it's organic and safe for food oh, it also shows pictures of big fat juicy red tomatoes on the label under the word organic ! I had to kill all my the ladies cuz I used it to get rid of white powdery mildew....
I wanted to use a different product but I couldn't find it where I'm at and for the moment the Name of the product Escapes Me! I also had read about hydrogen peroxide it will work but I wasn't too sure of it and The man at the nursery told me everybody was using Serenade! what a mistake that was!
I mean I was sitting right in the middle of it praying it and didn't bother me, but it did bother the Warden considerably!
I mean it traveled all the way from the basement through closed-door through the kitchen past the dining room stopping to look both ways and then cross the hall passing the front door finding its way into the living room, where the Warden caught a small whiff, most people wouldn't think much 2 that small amount but it's blistered the warden's lips and the inside her mouth!
I mean oh my God imagine if the warden actually would have smoked the residue that accumulated on to the plants when only a small whiff did so much damage and took two weeks before it healed I should have stuck with the peroxide I read about at that time because I wouldn't have had 2 of killed 20 plants five of which were almost completely finished budding! But I had made the mistake of just adding two more into the Bud room that were contaminated as well and I sprayed them too... Since then I have learned that whole milk not low-fat whole milk , mixed with 50% clean water I use RO water so I have clean water is far better and not poisonous
