Soil Plant Problems

i had a bagseed plant in a plastic cup for the first week, i just transplanted it today to a bigger pot and realized that it had yellow leaves toward the bottom. Is this a problem? if so whats the solution? or am i just freaking out about a naturally occurring event. comments?

2 questions...what soil are you using and how many leaves are on your plant???

generic topsoil potting mix, i think its scott's and its about 1-2 weeks into growing with about 6 leaves with three pedals on each

is it too late to save em doc?

just like to mention that i just transplanted them into a much bigger pot, is it possible the yellowing is caused by the plant not having enough space for the roots?

are you using fertilizer? sounds like nitrogen def or maybe not getting enough lite

just went out and bought some rose fertilizer 8-6-6 and added a little to the soil.... lets see if this works. But does anyone else have some helpful hints or comments? anything is appreciated thank you

what size cups?

the seed leaves and the single leaves usually die. do not over fert them. A week old plant is tender.

i went from a plain jane blue plastic cup (like a beer pong cup) to a large pot. When i transferred it today i noticed the cup was filled with roots... could that have been a cause of the yellowness? if so will moving it to a bigger pot make it green up ? thanks

They would not need a transplant after 1 week.
If the cup was full of roots they would.
Maybe I am misreading this but are the plants 1 week old?

The scotts is not going to work you are growing roots for a lawn.

I prefer organics. look in the forums for a soil mix or formula.

* the plant being young is fragile get some descent soil and you will live

just one plant... about 1-2 weeks old.... its about 6" high and was outgrowing the cup.... will the transplant and the small amount of fertilizer clear up the yellow? or am i taking the wrong approach....im just trying to learn the process for future grows... its all a learning experience at this point. btw thanks for replying

I would get some soil more suitable for mj and repot. your approach would be complex to make the scotts into what it is not. Not branding soil but even the green or orange bags would be better choices.
