Do soil plants typically ripen faster than hydro plants? looking at my mother plant and the clones, she seems to ripen faster than the hydro plants.. is this typically the case?

if so, any idea as to why?

hydro almost always matures faster than soil grown plants by about 5-10 days. Certain varieties do like soil better than hydro though and perform better in a soil/organic garden. Completely dependent on the strain

If you are growing clones from a mother plant in soil, they do typically finish a week or two faster than a plant from seed of the same exact strain grown in soil. This is just because clones are more mature than the seed plant and only need to root in order to start growing fast. If you are soil growing, find a mother plant keeper so you can just plant clones! You will end up having 1-2 more harvests per year

Fast growth is the reason for hydro. Because hydro set-ups typically water/feed the plants on a near constant
basis, it is assumed this spurs growth. Outside of that I don't see any benefit in hydro growing.

ive done both for the past 2 years. i always have a soil plant in with my hrdro..ive done kandy kush from clone in soil and hydro. yes the hydro was faster and more controlled the soil plant tasted better the buzz i must say was not much diffrent between the two.. i love my dwc...but i like the earthiness to soil weed too.

the hydro clones do grow faster (its as big as the mother plant). It's strange the the hairs on the mother turned orange faster even though both plants were in veg for the clones to root for like 2 weeks and they started flowering at the same time. The hairs on the hydro are still white however there is a few orange hairs popping up. these clones and the mother plant still smell the same as i did a test.
