Soil to dwc

Can I transplant a 2 week old plant from clone into a dwc bucket

Do I wash the dirt off and fill in around the roots with hydroton?

Or start a new clone in a different medium and go from there?

I'm going to just use AN iguana grow and Poland spring water with two large air stones in the bucket..

Or should I use something different?

I'm not going to mess with ph, ppm or anything like that. I just don't care. It's something new. I've always done soil with great results. Just breaking up the cycle a little bit with something new.

Don't hate or smash just add a few cents in a positive direction.

You can ignore PPM, but if your PH ends up being off, your going to have a pretty shitty run at hydro.

hydro is all about ppm and ph ! but to answer your question yes you can transplant from dirt to hydro i do it all the time.just try to get the main dirt out of roots but dont try cleaning them and then spread roots out as you add the hydraton.if your ph is off your plants will start getting a nute lockout and then die and not watching the ppm will lead to death so your in for a rough ride from what i see.not hating just stating a fact.

I washed my clones off pretty good. I was team scared to wash so much off a seedling for fear of breaking the tap root. If you have the money and can invest in a PH pin and a TDS pin it will be to your benifit for sure. Don't think you can swing it with out the PH pin. Nutes will be a guessing game and two things can happen. One you don't get the Growth potential DWC can give you, The others is add to much one time and it's all over. But ! Some or most Brands of nutes will give you ppms per dosage.

I grow them in 6" pots and when they are root bound put them in net pots. I shake the top off and put then right on the bottom of the net pot and fill in with hydroton. Keep the water about1/2 inch from the bottom of the net pot till you have roots coming out than drop to 1" below....

Hey-I am new to growing just finished my first grow-I had a PH meter and it broke so I ordered a new one from china. I thought that I could just hang on until my new meter got here so I continued watering without being able to check my PH-WRONG. I had a Connie Chung in DWC it was doing great before my meter broke. I ended up with brown roots and 1 jar of dried weed. In a flood and drain table I was growing two Kalis. They produced 9 jars. I think that the difference was because I couldn't keep an eye on my PH. I am prety sure that if I had kept going that the Kali's roots would have turned brown too. So I am sold on using a PH and a PPM meter. Your plants look really good.

Ive done all my transplants from soil to dwc. I used plastic drinking cups so I could squeeze out the dirt carefully holding the plant a well and EVER so gently try to get as much dirt off the fragile roots and your good to go.
