Some Help With My Growroom design

Hey Guys and Girls

After painstakingly reading so many of your grow journals I have decided to start setting up my own little grow space. I was thinking of getting one of the smallest sized bud boxes and setting it up in my cupboard but it seems such a shame not to use the huge massive cupboard i already have. Its a cheap Ikea job
IKEA | Wardrobes | PAX/KOMPLEMENT system | PAX | Wardrobe with 2 doors

1m in length 60cm deep and 2.36m high.
The only problem is i promised my girlfriend who is very understanding that I would not turn our flat into a death trap.... I would love some real help to play a safe grow room in that space. Some of the issues i have..

1. Only the right side door opens as its up against a wall and attached to another 2.5 wardrobes.

2. The only place I would be able to vent would be into my room through the top of the wardrobe.

I think it would be good to have a veg chamber at the bottom and then a smallish hps unit at the top.... It has 2 shelves in it already. Does anybody have any suggestions. I would LOVE some help and I promise to post loads of pics once I get going. I live in London UK very near some amazing hydro shops so getting any equipment wont be a problem.....

Peace and love

I think you are on the right track, just use the ikea cabinet and vent through the top. Make sure to use some kind of odor control on your vent. Also you will need to create some way for fresh air to come in.

I don't know what your stealth needs/desires are on this, but will be a factor in what you decide to do.

You might also need to figure out a way to detach/reattach that other door to get things in and out and have easy access to your veg area.

Last thing I can think of right now is to make sure your veg area doesn't bleed light into the flower area. It might need some mods to block that off depending on how the shelfing is (website didn't show inside).

Sorry this is probably of limited use, but good luck,

PP

Thanks for your reply Pete, the insides of the wardrobe are just big shelves. with nothing really else inside it. The only way I could get air into the cupboard would be again through the top, would this work? How would I go about doing it

many thanks

check the diy secton, there is a filter and a bunch of ideas, first and formost think lighting, i recommend a 100w hps with a mh convertible bulb, best of bothe spectrums, in a sealed fixture so you can keep the heat off your plants. also check craigs list my friend got a large cabinet for 30$

Just saw/cut you a passive intake in there, the lower the better but if it has to be in the top then just put it in the other side of the top. You could also use a small computer fan to help pull fan in but probably not necessary depending on what you have blowing out.
