Some quick questions

Hey i have done alot of research into grow room setup etc, although theres still a couple of questions i have which i cant seem to find the answer to, so any help would be much appreciated.

Firstly i have been experimenting with various hydroponic system setups, and i was wondering if this would work. Basically have a tray which is constantly fed so a cm of water (With nutrients etc) is present, and have a square of rock wool directly in the water. That way the roots can access the water when and if they need it. I was worried it could cause root rot or similar problems to the plant.

Secondly, i know there will be some compromises with this, but basically i have just began germinating my seeds. However, i am on holiday for three weeks starting the 28th of June. Is there anyway i can insure a harvest before then?

Finally (im really sorry about this) my grow area is rather restricted, so i will only be growing one or two plants, if i kept the light relatively low (not low enough to scold the leaves) would it keep the plant shorter and wider?

Thanks in advance for any help given, it would be a great help!

as long as the water flow is constant, it should be ok. i would use organic nutes and fert. in a 5 gal pot. there is a pretty good chance you can do it in soil if you have 3 months.

you can have a harvest by then, but you will need at least a 400watt hps, if you have more plants maybe a 600. 6 or more plants get a 1000watt.

try topping the plant, this will make it have 4 main colas, instead of one large one. the plant will not grow as high, and will grow wider. some strains dont respond very well though. and somtimes it adds like a week or so to the time it will take for harvest.

ok great thanks. I'll be using 400 watt sodium lamp. The strand is Arjan Strawberry haze.

The water flow isnt constant, i'll try to describe it. Its probably the most simple system ever. Basically have a bottle with the solution in, with a whole in the base, when the water goes below the whole it refills until it reaches the same height then stops again. Keeping the level at a constant level. If that makes sense?

oh and do you reckon if i kept the light on 24 hours it would speed up the growth before i turn to flowering, therefore making the over all time shorter? I read it was possible to have lights on for 24 hours on here. If so from when should i begin the 24 hour lighting? from seeding or wait until some leaf appear?

Cheers!
