Speaker Box+ 16 oz. Party Cup + Unknown Clone = Stealth Grow

Hello RIU! TH3 K1D posting up my very first grow journal and my very first grow
Now I know what you're thinking WTF? First Grow? Party Cups? Speaker Box? Sounds janky... and it is kinda but because little stuff still needs to be done for it to be really finished, but let me assure you after months upon months of research on growing, grow mediums, types of grows, types of nutrients, PH Balances, and of course seeing many RIU members and their grow journals digging throw posts long forgotten and seeing the success of many who took the time and actually got things done instead of just talking about it. So I took my time and now I'm just in it for the ride and see if I have the same success hopefully, but enough pep talk let's get down to details!

1 Speaker Box. (15 in. Wide, 26 in. Tall, 13 in. Deep)


Box was then gutted...


...lined with mylar, put in a PC fan, installed a surge protector, added 2 45W 6500K CFLs with a Y adapter and socket to plug converter. I have more lights bought a 4 pack of 45W 6500K CFLs and a 4 pack of 26W 2700K CFLs I plan to have more lights during flowering.

Still have to line with more mylar and re-add fan have to pick up a 12V DC Adapter.

New resident! Unknown Clone from local club, didn't have any of them labeled but I saw one that looked really good and brought it to it's new home. Filled bottom of slightly modified 16 oz. cup (Added a drainage hole) with Hydroton, added MG Organic Choice soil (Curious how it will do, have heard mixed things), and topped with more Hydroton (Heard it would help with drainage and keeping the soil moist longer, which would be needed with this little cup! and have half a bag left over from my other grow I'm also doing ). Temps stay within 70-77 degrees. 18/6 lighting schedule. Only the second day in but things are looking good expecting some bumps but I will get this baby to give me something to toke on at the end of the day... or should I say at the end of several weeks.


I plan to foliar feed her because after seeing some grow journals specifically for 16 oz. party cup grows it seems water and nutes are the biggest hurdles. It seems that many thought the smaller the pot the less nutes but it seemed to be the opposite and foliar feeding seems very fitting and not worried to much about over feeding with this method, also over watering seemed to be more of problem than under watering during the veg cycle but as time progressed to the flowering stage they begged for water and nuts so I will monitor both closely as these two elements seem to be key, but if anyone has any suggestions or advice it would be gladly appreciated! So feel free and thank you. Look forward to learning more I really am excited and feel passionate about this. If I can pull even a gram it would be good enough for me but wouldn't stop me for trying a second time! I'd just be happy if this helps someone looking to try the same but don't think they can do it. I've seen incredible results with this so why can't I get the same if not better results too! So again I look forward to learning, being more active in the community and getting to know everyone! Day 6 of my Speaker Box Party Cup Grow, FIMed plant on day 4 and now I can some new growth where I made the cut, hopefully another set of branches. Added two fans to my grow box the largest PC fan I could find is circulating the air and another PC fan I had laying around is being used as an exhaust. The casing that was originally on the fan worked out well too. Temps seem higher now with the addition of the fans, I'm thinking I might just leave the exhaust fan on if temps can't be controlled, but it's been hot down here, weird being that it is October, lately so I'm hoping for a little temp drop before I mess around in there again.
* Oh and the bottom picture, taken yesterday and sorry it's sideways lol, is the closet grow I am also doing with my homemade Bubbleponics system and they are doing fantastic! Almost two weeks into that grow The bigger of the two is a Blueberry Kush clone and the smaller girl is a Berryjuana clone. The Blueberry Kush has skyrocketed! The Berryjuana is also growing well just taking it's time and staying short which is fine with me haha both have been LSTed with weights I made and are being fed with Botanicure Pure Blend Pro, feeding when I think they need to be fed. I would have made a grow journal for this grow too but I accidentally deleted the grow journal I was keeping for here and I thought a party cup grow would be more interesting lol I'll post updated here and there of these two ladies though and keep you all updated!

Right on my friend thanks for showing some love, I am a BIG fan too! I am also very familiar with your grow journal and I must say my hats off to you. K'NEX SCROG!? Genius! Haha best of luck and can't wait to see that baby flower now! Oh and props on all that expert leaf tucking haha I kicked around the idea of a SCROG grow too but went with LST instead. I was gonna use those locker shelves you see at Staples and Wal-Mart. I'll have some questions for you if I do a Scrog next, I wanna learn and give it a try!

WTG, Th3k1D. Love the enthusiasm. It really can be a blast of a ride. Gonna tryn stopping and c how it goes. I did my first grow with organic MG soil and seemed perfectly fine GL K1D.

Update pleeeeease! Read everything and i would foilar feed the unknown clone, as u said its harder to over feed/water and the leaves get their nutes quicker. Appreciate the compliments man, never thought id get as into growing as i am, from the sounds of ur enthusiam im sure ur gona turn out the same!
