well if its noise you're concerned about, you could try egg cartons around the grow room.. old school dj trick i used to use.
otherwise, you could try leaving things on during the day to avoid nosey's.

sounds intersesting, considering how small area im working with i think it would take up to much prescious volume, is there any sound deadining material that i could use wich would not react poorly to a little heat?

Sometimes auto stores sell really cheap car sound deadening material. I saw it at a place here called Princess Auto which is kinda a cross between a part source kinda store and a hardware store.

People also use ash fault sheets for sound deadening, they're very cheap but smell like tar for a long time specially in hot places

Yah that was my first idea, but isnt that more for reducing vibration and not be overly effective for all around sound? and how is it with heat? any idea on a melting point?

Probably the way i am gonna go, just worried about the area around the light, I dont think this stuff was designed to be heat resistant, it would really bum me out to come back to my room to find I have made my own custom smoke machine.
It's made for cars, it's fire resistent...it says it on the page bro.
