Speeding up flowering cycle?

Hi guys. Just had a quick question. I have a situation that requires me to speed up my flowering cycle to be completed by a certain date. I do realize that this is not the best way, but it has to be done. I am leaving on vacation, and cannot leave things to run on their own, due to risk of fire, etc.

I have read that Co2 reduces the time in flower. I have also read that I can switch my lighting cycle to 10 on/14 off to also decrease the amount of time.

Co2 is already added, so the only thing to consider, is this light technique. Is there any validity to this? Any other suggestions would be welcome.

Man, for the sake of safety, I am going to say you have two options. Shut it down now, or fix your electrical problems. If you cant trust leaving for an extended period of time, for the risk of fire then you have made one of the biggest mistakes. Safety is first and foremost and it seems as if that was not a priority. I just hope you are the only one at your residence and its not an apartment.

There was a thread about this some time ago--it involved changing the light cycle to 12hrs OFF, 21:36hrs ON...worked out on paper it works out to having 5 cycles in a 7 day week...this is supposed to speed up flowering 'cause they key on the 12 hr dark period and the 21:36 gives 'em lots of extra light to flower. Some peeps on here were going to experiment with it but I haven't seen any results...it's an interesting concept. Here's the thread...Good Luck.

Its not that the grow is unsafe, it very much is. I have had no problems with it, and have been doing it for some time, however, since i need to leave for over 1 week, i would rather not take any chances.

Glausan, the 12 off 21:36 on works but dont switch over to it from what you have already been doing, it is something that is needed to be done from the very begginning.

If you do choose to do it in the future, use a product called DUTCH MASTER REVERSE and Dutch master Penetrator to avoid any chance of hermies...

So no one has been able to answer my initial question about whether or not 10 on/14 off speeds up the flower cycle. Any help guys?

Can't speed nature man its in the DNA these plants will not be done before they are done. Stuff like CO2 can increase yields if done correctly but you still have to wait about 8 weeks for the buds to fill out. A 10/14 cycle just limits the photoperiod even further and may even result in lower yields. Nothing like good old patience
