Spider Farmer SF2000 or Mars Hydro TS2000 for a 3x3 tent

New guy here, doing his first DWC Hydro grow ! I already have a Mars Hydro TS1000 and well sure… seems ok. But I`ve been reading and I think It won`t have enough PAR Value for the flowering stage. I don`t shit out money so I want to make sure the product is worth every dollar spent. So i`m thinking of selling the TS1000 and try to get a MH TS2000 or a Spider Farmer 2000. I`m leaning towards the SF since it has Samsung diodes.

3x3 tent ( max 2 plants )

Also I don`t think adding another 1000 would do anything PAR Value is Approx 500, so two MH TS-1000 don`t add up to 1000 PAR it still an intensity of 500 PAR.
From what i`ve read flowering requires or is optimal 1500 PAR value.

Happy to be on board this forum.

I am still a very new grower so hopefully someone else can give some more experienced advice but I have a Mars TS1000 so maybe I can help. My tent is only 20"x20"x48" so one TS1000 is probably overkill for me but I Vegged at 75w and bumped it to 150 for flower, so far I think it is doing pretty damn amazing (Pics Below of Gorilla Punch 49 days since flip to 12/12). Keep in mind that the closer the light is to the plants the higher the par will be. Also, the Par Map on the MH website seems to be wrong. Migro on youtube reviewed it and at 18" the par is around 700 so I think this par map from Amazon is more accurate. At 18" they say the par in the dead center is 709 but if you lower the light to 12" the par is 1334 in the center so if you add another TS1000 and hang it around 12" during flower you will be more then fine. I do really like the TS1000 but to be honest I regret not spending a little more for the Spider Farmer so if you were going to upgrade to a larger light instead of adding another TS1000 I would strongly consider the Spider Farmer. Hopefully this helped and happy growing!

Very nice buds !! That`s what I want to see.. Congrats on your grow Jelimafish. So I’ll see what I can get with my TS1000 it’s my first grow and it’s a regular seed so I’ll know around the end of March if it’s female. I’m growing grand daddy purple. I’m curious how dense the buds will be coming out of 150watts.

When I was toying with going between the MH and SF, I was leaning on the MH side of things based on light footprint as MH TSW2000 is square and the SF was rectangular(in an 80x80cm tent). I don't think there was a major difference in PPFD between the 2 if I recall correctly.

Yea they are extremely similar in terms of light output but SF definitely is made better and with better materials. When I got the TS1000 it was about $55 cheaper then the SF but now it looks like there is only a 25$ difference which seems worth it to me and I am extremely happy with the TS1000.

Thanks! Super excited especially because it is just my second grow, I got a lot of quantity from Grow#1 but the quality was pretty awful. With 1-2 plants I think you will have great success with the TS1000, just get the sucker as close as you can without causing light burn or foxtailing and you will be good to go. She is looking really good, fingers crossed you see pistils! I should be harvesting in the next 3 weeks so I will let you know how the buds turn out. Good luck and hope to see how it turns out for you.

I would agree with that. I ended up in the end going for LED strip lighting from DIYLEDUK. Wasn't wanting to spend money on another light and still feel like I wanted to replace it. I got a Phlizon 600w and within a week realised it wasn't going to cut it with the manufacturer PPFD numbers and the light footprint

as a side note the tsw 2000 pulls 300 watts and spider farmer pulls 200 watts. Tsw has efficient diodes. epistar vs Samsung...SF BEATS MH hands down. But MH is better value. I have TSW 2000, and its great

Hi, I looked at it from all angles. If younger I’d probably try the diy kit, then age has crept up on me, so lazier, so just taking my t5 down to help warm and light germination area, and went for the SpiderFarmer 2000. Enjoy the ride bro-keep it in the road, good luck

I have the sf2000 I run it in a 2x4 and LOVE it. I bought a SF1000 for my clones and starts because I liked it so much. Ran them both Together 46F8C114-3D51-4379-AAF3-F77DDA64205A.jpegADED177D-C51E-40D6-BA6C-6CD01BF61E40.jpegin my 2x4 before as well (really didn’t need to). I also have an hlg. I got the TSW 2000. I did the same research as you did. The price out weighed it mainly plus 300w, and the efficiency of both are very good...wont deny samsung wins hands down. No regrets. I haven't run full cycle yet, but at 16 days its better than my old school LEDS.

Hey there ! I have just purchased a sf2000 2 weeks ago and it came with the dimmer separately for quicker access. Do you know what setting I should keep it at for each stage of the growth? Also how far should I hang the lights? Please help! And thanks!
