I’ve noticed on one plant in my grow room had spider mites so I mixed up some neem oil with water and shaked it and sprayed it down them moved it outside away from my other plants that didn’t have it at all they are still flowering and have about another 2 months to go. Is it okay that I spray my whole plant down with neem oil and water I didn’t add soap I was reading about it I don’t wanna ruin the taste of my cannabis is there any other way to make sure they are gone I check my plants daily idk where it came from but I handled it quick and removed that plant out side any help on what else to use for my organic grow
If you handled it quickly then should be OK. If you scoped the other plants and they show no sign of malady then should be OK.
Chances are if you sprayed with Neem and put it outside there are more pests on it now. I would leave it out there.
I personally mix in Diatomaceous Earth when I am doing organic Soil. Not much but enough to be in there. It is natural and organic.
It can be used lightly on the top soil too. But remember it is non-discriminatory meaning it kills everything that walks on it. Good or bad.
If there is pressure from pests I will dust the plants and let it sit. Mostly the mothers. Once I have control or some control I will re-create the environment again for cleanliness and for the good guys. The good guys that eat the pests usually take about 1-2 weeks to appear after pest damage. Many people cannot fend off pests this long so they resort to sprays but let me tell you.... Some Lacewings will handle many pests for you. The reason the beneficial show up late to the party is because they follow food. There must be pests for there to be good guys. It's called balance.
Here is what a Green Lacewing Egg looks like. A filamint of hair like fibre which suspends it's egg from leaves to avoid detection. They turn into savage babies that literally suck the life out of pests. Only the babies will eat pests. The adults are where they get their names from. The adults do not feed on pests rather pollen but they are still very nice looking creatures.
Here is a baby lacewing giving no shit about Diatamaceous. I felt super bad for the little guy. They look so badass, truly. I tried to give him a shower and all that with a clean water spray bottle. He probably took out 100 thrips before kicking the can.
Lastly I make sure to create some Hypoaspis Miles to protect the organic. The way I do this is cow compost and Bio-Live. In about a week there should be plenty of bennies roaming the top soil. You can also buy beneficial insects online if you don't have other plants around. But if you want an organic to thrive you have to create a micro-eco-system.
I don't spray much things I try my best to utilize the environment. If I were to spray I would dilute neem like you did but only in early veg. TBH lots of pests around here don't give a shit about neem. It's probably like having one too many drinks for them at this point...
