I bunch of questions for the RIU community. How many people have spouses that smoke with them? of those whose spouses don't, do they approve of your smoking?

For those of you who don't live with your spouse. do they know you grow? do they approve or would they approve if they knew?

Me and my hubby smoke EVERYDAY, and he loves me even more now that i grow... What is going on with your spouse Kant??
oh my girlfriend doesn't approve of smoking. For that reason she also doesn't know about my hobby. i'm in a long distance relationship, which for all of it's negative aspects, allows me to continue my habit and my hobby. *sigh*

When I can get to it, with weed, my wife and I have the best sex in the world and love our long walks. After 25 years of marriage and tokin' from time to time, it's a good helper for us. Peace to all of you

I started smoking as soon as i delivered (after 1 week in the hospital, my hubby has it ready as soon as i got home!!!) i breast feed regualarly (for 6 month as long as i could) and no problems with my baby, he's just as bright and sweet as my first(hadnt started smoking yet). You all will be fine, tell her to toke up... she deserves it!!!! Now alcohol on the other hand is a definate NO, NO...lol

Oh! :-|:? That sucks!
My spouse doesn't smoke either and he used to always have a problem with it. I've quit off and on several times but the last time was about 3 years ago.

For the most part hubby has had a problem with it. For one, weed just doesn't sit with him right. In the 18 years we have been together, we have smoked together only about 3 times and every single time he get totally sh*t-faced and freaks out.:oNeedlessly to say, he assumed that it had this same affect on me.

He often tells me to make sure I don't drive when I've been smoking. Yeah right! Like I'm gonna wait hours to drive. If I've just tried a new strain for the first time and get totally blazed, then :dunce: duh,
of course I'm not gonna drive.
The thing that most people don't realize is that it doesn't affect all people the same way. Plus we get somewhat used to it in our sysytems.
Now that I started up again as of last May his attitude has changed a LOT!!!
I'm still fighting for some things concerning my growing indoors, but for the most part, all is good.

He now realizes that it calms me down better than any prescription meds :? with little side affects.
This has been the most supportive he has ever been about me smoking.

I honestly don't know what I'd do if hubby 'told' me I can't do weed any more.

All I can say is:

I'd really miss him.

My wife smokes with me on occassion. But not nearly as much as I.

She knows that I grow, but isn't thrilled with it. Of course she's concerned about the consequenses of getting caught, what will the kids think if they knew, etc...

Its your call but I would start jotting down little reminders of why you like to smoke etc. and perhaps make her some dinner, real special and all, and let her know.
I could never tell my guy that he can't do anything. We both respect that we have free will and the right to do as we please but we also know that we wouldn't take advantage of each this freedom.

I honestly couldn't have a relationship with someone who didn't understand that part about me because it's a HUGE deal to me.

Yeah. You can't keep it a secret forever. Its not good for the relationship BUT more importantly, its not good for your heart and soul. :-?

It does, and obviously i can't keep it a secret forever but...i have no idea what i'm gonna say to her if she ever finds out or if we move in together.

Well me and my hubby both smoke daily. I have smoked for years and hubby just as long as he has known me . I still tend to smoke more. As for the growing, we both do it and approve of it, lol. I do most of the tending, watering, nutes, research, cloning etc. Hubby just fixes the stuff ie: clogged pumps, draining and filling, lifting stuff and makes any modifications that may arise. He basically does the stuff I can't (heavy lifting etc, same as my outdoor gardens, lugging and lifting the shit, lol). And of couse we both share in the harvest. I couldn't imagine it any other way. I married my best friend. 8-) :peace:

That wouldn't work well at all. don't/can't cook so if i did that she would become immediately suspicious. i have no idea what's going to happen. so i'll do what i always do, just run with it as long as possible then wing it when i cross that bridge.

Just be truthful with her Kant, if a women hates anything is to be lied to, tell her straight out and let her know you could have kept if from her, but you want a relationship built on trust. Reinterate the fact that it is a plant and how its part of you lie style. But keeping it from her will just hurt your relationship, i am with Lacy, and we are married, you cant control your spouse/mate. In the end you have to decide(if she is totally against it) what is more important, will you marry her someday??

Absolutely! Trust isn't something that can be bought. Its one of the most important aspects in any good relationship. Trust is priceless and most certainly a characteristic women are looking for.
:clap:You tell him Puff!!!

If she doesn't know this part of you Kant, then she doesn't really know you.

As far as the dinner thing, so what if ya can't cook. Wing it with the dinner not the news about weed.
Surely you're more creative than that Kant.

Take her OUT to dinner then.

It sounds like you are afraid of confrontation.
Me too!

Aww, spouses.
I haven't been in a relationship yet, but she'd have to know that I smoke. My 'grow room' is an open doorway right next to my bedroom! I'm sure she'd notice to bright white light shining from the aluminum draped cardboard/duct tape fixture.

wow i'm being attacked by the tag team of lacy and puff. well lacy i am in fact a wuss. as for marriage...that's something i'm not even remotely ready for. I have a feeling that it's going to be one of those make or break discussions.:-| which is why i'm not too eager to have it.
