Stand-alone carbon filters?

I was told that i could put a carbon filter with a intake fan on top of it in the middle of the room t generate cleaner air in the room by recirculating the air through the carbon filter, instead of the other route where u hook your filter up to some ducting then to the fan then to like a exhaust vent. Is this tru? Has anyone done this before? Would it just be easier to use an ozone generator in the room instead? Thanks:peace:

Even if there is any merit to that, you'd still be blowing stank air out of the exhaust.

That method is called scrubbing, if you suck your cubic feet of the room through your filter it just a few minute it will work fine. i do this for my setup and no stank whatsoever. i have the charcoal filter attached to a fan in my grow room and it doest exhaust anywhere except back into the grow scrubbing the air leaving it smell free

I do this but Im running a sealed room with no intake or exhaust. My lights are cooled separate from the air inside my room. If you have in and out vents and smell is an issue I would run all outgoing air through a filter first.

Im not sure if it would or not.I have my filter on my exhaust fan so air pulled from the room is pushed thru it.easy to make too i made it for like 15 buks and works great.this is the 1 i made https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/7074-easy-build-diy-carbon-filter.html

Whats the diff in a sealed off room and a non-sealed one? This method works for you? Gets rid of the smell completely of almost? Also what cfm is your fan, carbon filter? How many girls did u have? Strain..

A sealed room has no in our out vents and is cooled by ac. I run a sealed room because I keep my room flooded with co2 and dont want to waist it with sucking hot air + co2 out... I got a big filter but not big enough because the inside of my room REEKS but cant smell anything outside until a door is opened and the stench gets out.

If you have in and out vents I would not recommend using a filter in this way because you will be pushing stinky stinky air out that has not been through a filter ( pushed or pulled it doesnt matter)

I have a closet that is 3.5x5.5 by 8 tall with 1600 watts over 10 big girls. The fan for my filter is directly attached sucking air through it and blowing clean air back into the room and there is a 2nd fan pulling air through the 2 hoods with an open end sucking excess heat and stale air out of the room they are starting week 3 of flower and not a thing can be smelled anywhere

Thanks. I've noticed that the more frosty they get the more they smell. I'm about to be on my fourth week and they reek when the ac isn't running or more ona bucket is running low but I'm looking into getting a hut and a carbon filter and etc, then hopefully all my worries, smell, would be cut down a lot.
