Standard relector or cooltube?

I know I want to use 1000 watt HPS with digital ballast in my flower room.

Now the question is use a standard 6/8" cooling reflector or cooltubes?

I will have a 5x8 flower area to use and will be using a Can 100 carbon filter with an 800 or 1000 cfm fan driving air through the lights and then into the attic. The area might wind up being 4x8 this is my 1st go around so I'm learning along the way.

My second question is: Hortilux super blue or Hotilux super HPS. Super blue is a combo 600 watt hps with 400 watt blue spectrum. At the hydro store he said I will get better results from the super blue. I'm attaching the spec sheets for both. The super HPS has more lumen output and double expected life.

I was leaning towards the Lumetek, but the rep at the hydro store is trying to sell me the digital ballast from Global Greenhouse lighting saying they use better parts.

Once again your input is greatly appreciated:hump:

When I was buying my ballast, the rep at the hydro store that I went to said I could use a digital ballast to switch between MH and HPS so I went digital and got both bulbs. But I was buying a 250watt setup. The rep said that digital ballast weren't as good as traditional ballast for big lamps like 600 and 1000 watt because they had heat issues and could fry their circuit boards. I don't personally know if the digital 1000 watt ballast you are looking at is good or not or if the rep I spoke with was full of crap, but it might be worth researching it a little more to find out if there is any advantage to it or if the rep you spoke with was just trying to sell a more expensive piece of equipment.

So apparently cooltubes suck, But has anyone used any other reflectors that HTG sells? They have a few rectangular air coolables, and 3 different umbrella type reflectors, Im interested in the differences if anyone is aware of them
