Starting a Grow box Looking for tips and advise! (NY)

So far my friend and i have have a total of three plants.
one is germinating (still a seed) and the two others are in pots. (they are about 2 weeks old)
his plants aren't very healthy, they need more light and better soil which is why i decided to start a grow box.

here's a list of the items i plan to use:

automatic time clock
thermometer
compact Fluorescent(day light)/CFL
im still not sure which CFL im going to use if you could help me out with that,
that would be cool.
intake and outtake fans (small computer fans attached to usb adapters)
water and spray bottle
Pots (for the plant duh)
baking soda air purifier

Potting soil and nutrients:
foxfarm orignal potting soil
rockwool cubes
some sort of nutrients

The box:
chrome duct tape
multiple usb to wall adaptor
mylar (maybe)
black plastic
card board box
power strip
usb power adaptors

i have pictures of a moch up i did but i don't know how to upload them...

please post any ideas, questions, comments.

Oh and i need to know if it is safe to order seeds from the recommended sites on this site. and if it is safe to order from online head shops such as legalbud.com and grassisty.com

Your list looks pretty good...just how big is the box.with cfls use 6500 for veg and 2700 for flower..check out htg supply they have good deals on lights and mylar..happy growing
