starting from seed, good conditions but still?

Hi I'm trying to start from seed.. i'm using FFOF + perlite.. attempted with bagseed before using good female seeds but it seems I've only had (2 of 17) of the bag seeds sprout and start growing which I've transplanted into 16oz party cups as you can see on the left. I started those 17 bag seeds 7 days ago. 24 hours ago I mixed 50/50 perlite + ffof and planted 2 THC Bomb, 2 Liberty Haze, 2 keralaxskunk#1, and 1 Royal queen critical (these are the ones in tray on left with more perlite). I got my temps at about 78F and 60 RH, and a small fan pointed downward on low.. should I be ok continuing like this, those bag seeds were old maybe that's why they didn't work?

Maybe up your temps a little bit.. Seedlings love warmth

High temps dry out the soil so your plant would want more water stretching out the roots which equals more root growth which equals a big strong healthy plant

No you should not continue like that.. those are horrible germ rates

And don't transplant into party cups start off in something that size

they were planted in the soil 1/4'' deep and lightly covered

Most of my seed stock is 5-10 years old. I expect a 75% germ rate or so sprouting roughly 20 every 2 weeks.
Keep your cups with a Ziploc bag over to keep the humidity high. You want your seeds 80-82° for best germ rates. I personally find the paper towel method of germing to be more effective than soil. Within 48 hr's they should have sprouted, some within 24 hours..i don't like the cup of water method. Imo if you put them in dirt once the tap root is about a half inch or a bit longer you have best results, if you wait a full 48hrs without planting the early sprouting seeds you may find the shell already popped and green or even already yellow leaves. I find that they won't bounce back quickly enough if you go that far likewise planting with a small taproot stunts the growth... half inch seems to be right and they jump up with growth much faster for those of us pumping out flower

yesterday 2 thc bomb's sprouted, 1 liberty haze, 1 skunk, and 1 critical. and 12/17 bag seeds also came through. They were not soaked or anything, they were planted dry.
