Starting Indoors, moving Outdoors

I have 4 seeds that just germinated. I put them each in a 6" container with a mix of FFOF/FFLW/Perlite. I've got 6 26 watt (6500K spectrum) CFL's inside the growbox with them.

My plan was to get them started indoors for about 2-3 weeks, then take them to my outdoor spot and plant each in about 15 gallons of FFOF.

By the time I put them outside, I'll have about 13hours and 45min of sunlight every day. When I move them from their 20/4 light schedule outdoors, will this induce flowering?? I don't want that to happen. A quicker harvest would be nice, but I really want to turn these plants into monsters. Anyone with experience starting plants inside and moving outside know if they will remain in a vegetative state?? Thanks.

Hey, man I'm doing the same thing with the same set up. I'm like 16 days in but I decided to veg for another month as they just started to pick up in growth. I would recommend doing 18/6 light cycle or working it down. I went 24/0 for a week, 20/4 for a week and now I'm on 18/6 until I put outside. Gl

When are you putting them outside?
If you need to put them out soon, then agreed.. start gradually lowering their light cycle until it's where you need it.
Otherwise if you can wait, keep them where you've got it, with the same lighting.. Then throw them outside 6/1.

They've just germinated and I'll probably be able to keep in for about 3 weeks. I've got them in a small grow box, so I probably won't be able to let them stay in much later than that.

So, I'm on 20/4 right now. Should I go to 18/6 then step it down maybe and hour/week. 18/6, 17/5, 16/4....outdoors, where it will be about 14/10. Should this definitely keep them in veg? Is it just the shock of going from 20/4 for 3 weeks to 14/10 outdoors that could make them switch?

Yep the quick switch shocks them into flowering...
You should be good to gradually lower the lights & get them outside.
Good luck!!

Thanks man. After I put these four outside, I'll be starting 2 more seeds indoors (Lemon Skunk & White Berry). My grow box is pretty small so I couldn't get all of them in there at once.

My goal is to harvest enough weed to last myself an entire year (until harvest time next year). I won't be selling any. I'm hoping I can get over a lb combined from 6 fem'd plants (all different strains, for variety).

Outta 6? As long as you do it right you should be good deary ;) I just had some lemon skunk the other night :)
Are you throwin the next batch outside too?
Where do you live? If you're in a cooler climate, I'd definitely advice getting them germinated before you get these ones outside, so as soon as these ones go out you've got the new babies in & started! That way they're ready to roll, keep them on the 20/4 sched, then toss them out July 1st. Something with the Moon cycle, & lighting cycle... It all just shocks the plant into being, well, fabulous!

When you say "outta 6", what do you mean?? Am I setting the bar too high or too low. I really have no idea. There are 6 fem'd seeds, each will be in about 10-15 gallons or so of FFOF in pretty good spot that gets good sun coverage. I've also got a bunch of really good nutes. Is hoping for a lb combined reasonable?? Again, I'm looking to get enough to smoke until next years' harvest. I only smoke like 1 bowl at night time usually. Thanks.

If you get them out soon... you possibly could pull 1 pound off of 2 girls alone. Good Luck.

That's what is in the back of my mind. I'm trying to keep those thoughts away so I don't get disappointed. My goal is about 3 oz's per plant = 18 oz's. 18 oz's of 6 different strains would definitely last me until next year's harvest. It might last me 2 years, because most days I smoke only about a 1/2 gram at most. I guess it will depend on the potency in the end and how much of it I have to smoke to get "good" ya know.

I just put them in the soil yesterday, so they haven't even come up yet. Once they do in a couple days, I'm gonna move them outside for most of the time (weather permitting). I'll watch over them in my back yard in full sunlight and wait until they really harden up and have at least a few nodes. Then I'll transplant them into the ground. I'll make a journal as well after things really get going.

Most plants will give you about 250-400 grams on average so even at the least you still get 1/2lb.

I'm just hoping for a lb when I add all 6 harvests together. I've figured that would safely last me a year. If I get 250-400 grams off of each plant I would be ecstatic. I wouldn't know what to do with that much weed. Probably give a bunch away.
