Stealth Hydro Bubbleponics system or Rainforest 66 systems

Hello, I just finished my first grow in soil and I was wanting to get hydro because it looks easier then soil and I messed up on my nute in the soil too. I just bought a 3x3 grow tent with a 4" inline fan with odor sock and I have a 400 watt HPS light. I was wanting 6 medium size plants, like 25-30 inches tall. Does anybody have experience with these systems or which one would work best for what i am wanting to do. Here are the sites: www.stealthhydro.com , Hydroponics, Indoor Gardening Supplies, Hydroponic Systems - home for the rainforest 66. They are both aeroponic, the rainforest 66 has a 17 gallon tank and the Bubbleponics system has a 8 gallon tank. I am going to just the BC Nutrient starter kit and they recommend changing the water every week, so the 8 gallon system would be easyer to change out once a weet. But the Rainforest 66 has 6" net pots and the Bubbleponics system has 3.75" net pots. Does that matter, the size of the net pots for the size of the plant u want to grow? Here is the link for the nutes I want to use, Hydroponics, Indoor Gardening Supplies, Hydroponic Systems - home, and is this a good deal on these nutes? Thanks for help.

What medium do you recommend using for this system, how often did u change your water out and was it hard to change it out with the hose on the side? Does it have air stones in the bottom of it or does it not need them. If it does not have air stones would it be a good idea to get some and put them in it so the roots that hang in the water are getting oxygen good? THanks email

i put some hydroton in the bottom of the net pot. I then put in the seedling that was started in a rapid rooter and cover with hydroton. I cut a piece of panda plastic to cover them. But the system comes with coco-tech liners and lids which work well with hydroton (have a look at my bottom grow journal for more).

I like a highly oxygenated reservoir so i added an air pump (it does not come with one - just the aero sprayer - which works very well). My air pump is overkill but an air pump is highly recommended. I would get one with at least two nozzles - one for an air stone - the other just use the tube with nothing on the end to blow big bubbles and keep the water moving.

It is a pain to change out the res which i do about once a week (on average) though you could probably do it every two weeks (or maybe longer) without problems - provided your plants stay healthy.

I use a siphon hose to drain it.

Is there not a black hose with two white lines on the Rainforest 66 on the side to drain the water out? You put the coco liners in first and then put the hydrotron in the pot? I bought some rockwool cubes, will those work good too? Then put the rockwool cubes in the pots and cover them with hydrotron.

Why does the stealth hydro suck?

not on mine. there's a water level hose in front that you could twist upside down and use as a drain tube. Maybe i got the first version without drain tubes?

man buy a rumbermaid from wal mart and make your own... you can make 2-3 for the price of one from stealth hydro and they work just as good... There are like 100 threads on here on how people have made them at home, some a little more ghetto then others but most of them work...

This way you can spend your money on better lighting

Good luck...

The SH Bubbleponics is alot harder than soil. You make a mistake with hydro youre plants die in a few hours, with soil you have a few days or maybe even a week in some cases.
