Stems splitting from mainline/manifold?

I've noticed my stems here starting to split as it grows? I didn't notice this last week and its happening to all of them. Even left the 3/4 of a inch when I topped it because they said this would make it stronger. Is this normal or the start of something worse? First time training this way

Give it some supports. Both sides.

Your ok . Leaving the extra piece is for preventing it from splitting down the middle. That split is due to fast growth and should not be an issue.

You know how hulk grows and rips out of his shirt?

well that’s what the plant is doing. Lol the stump is bulking up to support those branches. You can add some makeshift crutches in there to help support it.
Haha that's a great way of explaining it. I have a support ring for the higher branches but didn't think these would need a lift until flowering at least

I agree with island, I always like to top about 10 to 12mm above my nodes this helps prevent that but it usually doesn't hurt the plant add long as it is running up and not around at the base it should heal itself...

I was taught to soften the stem before bending, you can also gradually pull it into place over a couple days.

However I've botched my fair share it'll be fine, it's a very tough plant.

You can use plant ties or pipe cleaners and attach it to the ring above for support.
Now when do I remove the starting ties to the side of the pot? The first ones I did to spread the Y to a T. I didn't want it to lose its shape so I've left them on so far but maybe its trying to straighten itself?

I haven't touched these parts of the plants in weeks thats why I was wondering why it was happening. No splits here a few weeks ago, more recent pic is up above

It's truing to grow upwards but you have her tied down. The trunk is building resistance and getting stronger. Should be nice and fat soon.
