this is my third documented grow on rollitup. i have 2x600w hps for veg, and 4x1000w hps for bloom. strains in this harvest include m9, ak, nyc diesel, k2, maui, cough, kali dream, and???

so they're at day 56 (wk 8 ) and we're letting the m9, cough, and nyc diesel to go to wk 9 with 48hrs darkness at day 63.

all other sativa dom hybrids will go up to wk 12 with a shortened photo period of 6/18.

as always feel free to post any/all questions/comments. let's share some knowledge people...

thanks people for stopping by. here a few things i think people should know about this garden.

this is organic, fed only tea brewed with bat shit, kelp, worm castings, humic acid and molasses.

i water with dripline hooked up to a resevoir, controlled by a timestat. super fucking easy, massive fucking growth!

have been growing seriously for 5 years, have grown all styles, this being favorite for two reasons.
#1. prefer organic, just tastes, smells, feels better.
#2. keep it simple!

if there is anything you are wondering about, feel free to ask...
or if you are just here to enjoy the ride, cheers!

the 6/18 photoperiod technique was shown to me by a master grower(20+yrs).
it is implemented in rooms where multiple finishing times determine at what rate you're able to cycle from veg to bloom.
normally i chop indica dominant plants around wk 8 or 9, and sativa dominant around 10 to 12 wks, some even up to 14 (though nothing i grow now goes that long).
once i've harvested the indicas, i shorten the photoperiod to 6/18 to replicate the coming of winter.
by doing this i am able to accelerate the plants internal timeclock into maturing before seasons end.
i have successfully used this technique to finish sativas up to 2 wks before predicted maturation.

i recommend this technique to anyone struggling to finish longer flowering strains indoors...:blsmoke:

I have a small project going and due to my summer job coming up sooner then expected I will only have about 50 days to flower the strain Moby Dick (white widow x haze). I just fell upon this 6/18 method and I am very intrigued to possibly use it in the end of this grow. I am currenty on 12/12, but I guess the way the 6/18 photoperiod works is that you set the switches to that for maybe a week or two?? and let them finish up on large dark cycles which makes them think seasons are ending and they need to finish.

Basically, I want to use this method. How early would you say you begin this, and this method goes on until the 48 hours of darkness period in the end? By the way great looking grow and setup. I can't wait to get my grow tent setup for next grow :)

MJ Crescendo: while this method works for many sativas, i do not believe 50 days is enough time to finish a haze hybrid.
if you really can't push longer than 50 days i guess i would flip to 6/18 2wks before 48hrs darkness, then harvest.

ogkush420: very solid advice, thanks for contributing knowledge about fem seeds and 6/18 photoperiod!

today marks day 67 in my garden. officially the day i had to tie all the ladies up to keep them from snapping under the bud weight.

i will begin flushing tomorrow and induce 48 hrs darkness sometime around day 70, give or take.

after my indica dom ladies are out, i will finish remaining sativa dom ladies under 6/18 for 2-3 more wks.

and what would an update be without pics...:bigjoint:

i did finish up a haze strain with a 6 12 cycle that works a little faster gives it a couple extra days in the week i actually just harvested it right at 55 days i wasnt in a rush or anything i just try new thing i am a breeder so im always lookin for the next good thing if no one ever trys it how do you know it works also a little trick i found do the 36hours of darkness the give it a 12 hour cycle then do the 24 hours of dark and the trichome production look like it was doubled once againif your strain is not stable dont try it but i swear by it but i also cross and back cross for a year before i even grow my seeds i managed to cross a LR2 with a mango kush and ended up with a non auto LR2 and a auto mango kush lol i love it and the non auto lr2 gets bushy and a big yeilder im workin on a bog sour lifesaver crossed with a WW blue dream cross its stable now just want to back cross it one more time with a ak47 to get the vigor growth

chopped Soma's NYCDiesel bout 3 days ago, put into dark cycle 48hrs, then big leafed and hung.
this shit smells like straight diesel fuel, way more than any other diesel strain i've encountered.

the process has begun and will continue for the next 3 wks.

feel free to drop any ?'s/comments!

p.s. growinthebuz: my electric for 4k bloom plus 2x600w veg, plus 400w clone light, fans, co2, air conditioner, duel stage uv water filter, water pumps, and heat mats ranges from 300-450/month, nothing compared to some larger setups:hump:

Just finished big leafing local cough strain that went a full 10wks.

This strain produces the thickest, most succulent water leaves I have ever seen. Def good for all those water leaf juicers out there!

The buds are super tight and dense. Two harvests ago I had a single cough plant produce 8oz indoor!

This is the most cough plants I've ever pulled at one time, total number is 12ish.

All finished around 5ft, with most of them doubling over from bud weight.

In my drying room i hang 4 lines tall and 4 lines deep, totaling 16 lines 6ft in length.

The cough filled 14 lines packed solid, nearly filling a roots organic bag with fan leaves.

drying temps at 65' and humidity at 33%.

You can see that this is only half my room harvested. my sativas I will be pushing up to wk 12 with an 6/18 photo period.

Whoo hoo dungeon sessions!
