Sticky's Stealth Stash

Looking back through my pics it appears I started this grow, my first grow, on the 30th of December. It all started with a single seed I found in some legit Blue Cookie buds I purchased. Shortly after, I found a few seeds in a batch of Gelato. 6 of those sprouted. I decided to build a small box to grow stealthily in my place. I don't have roommates, only furmates, but I do have frequent family visitors and they would likely frown upon it so that's that.

My interior space is about 21x21x28", I have a 4" exhaust fan pulling through an iPower Carbon Filter, and 12 2" passive vents for intake covered with a carbon filter sheet. Inside I have a Vornado circulation fan, a modified evaporative cooler, and an 80mm fan blowing hot air off of my light into the exhaust filter. I have a Horticulture Lighting Group 100W Quantum Board running at about 70W suspended roughly 12" above my plants. Since I installed the evap cooler temps in my box top out at 77F and my humidity is staying in mid 50% even with lights off. Temp drops about 8F during lights off. Everything is controlled through a wireless outlet with an app on my phone, set on a schedule. Currently running 12/12 since Monday 3/5.

My medium is 1/3 FF Ocean Forest, 1/3 FF Happy Frog, and 1/3 Perlite. I am feeding Greenleaf Nutrients Mega Crop and a bit of Molasses. I have my plants in 5.25x5.25x5.25" square pots to keep things tight and small. I began mainlining probably a bit early and got some preflowers showing just recently after the second topping so I decided to stop stressing them out and just let them do their thing. I ended up with 8 tops on my Gelatos anyway and I the Blue Cookie is splitting on its own like mad now but very symmetrically. I will most likely build a scrog net once they start getting a bit taller. All of them are growing very evenly and I think it will be a sweet canopy.

I know they are tiny for being over 2 months old but I have been going nuts trying to keep them small and I may have succeeded with midget buds. I do not have high expectations for yield, I'm just trying to see how all of this works, how well this space will work and if I can really keep it under cover for an entire grow cycle. If everything checks out I will get some good genetics and do it right from the get go.

I originally started with 7 plants, I never really wanted that many nor thought I could possibly fit them in my space. I gave 3 away to good trustworthy homes and I am left with 3 Gelatos and 1 Blue Cookie. The 4 that I kept have white pistils and I hope they don't turn out to be hermies since they came from buds...but who knows.

Anyway, that's it for now, some pics below. I will likely update this every Thursday or Friday as things progress. All comments, suggestions, tips, and constructive criticism welcome.

Never. “Final Flush” is for toilets.

Flush as needed with plain water at any time, only if salt buildup on the media is significant/causing problems. Everything about “final flush” is based in misunderstanding causation and a drive for short cure times.

If you want the best results, yield, flavor and possibly potency:

1) don’t flush at the end, and...
2) cure over a longer time. (Just saw you are curing for 8 weeks! That’ll do!)

Nice work, love the build and the plants look great. I would recommend that you keep feeding them unless you feel the tips are too burned, then flush with some extra plain water and resume feeding until harvest. Some folks like a little tip burn at the end.

Skip the molasses while you’re at it. Keep it simple, the tiny possible benefit is not worth the hassle. Consider replacing it with some Great White in your waterings occasionally. It is like magic powder for root health. I am not a shill, just a happy user of the product with a little freshwater biology in my background.
Thank you for the awesome advice! Any recommendations for more density in the dried nugs? 2 of the 3 strains (gelato and ssh)that I have grown thus far have been a bit on the fluffy side. The blue cookie was on point (cookie and gelato grew together with exact same conditions and feedings)

That is awesome!!!!!
and thank you both for the compliments!

In my experience fluffy flowers are not a huge problem, but, are often caused by high ambient temps. Try lowering your air temps, if possible. Thanks for your receptivity of my ideas, which I admit are outside of what you have likely encountered as ‘normal.’

Friday update: 30 days from germination.

The purple kush is a different breed for sure. Strong thick and bushy. It is growing nodes non stop so I decided to do a modified mainline using some of the lower shoots as additional arms. I transplanted into an Air-pot which looks cool and I think it will result in healthier roots. I also bought a 14" grill top and put it on top of the pot. This will give me lots of points to restrain to as well as help spread the canopy to the full width of my grow space, hoping to get it to 20" wide or so when she is flowering. More to follow soon.

Gif of the last week or so. She didn't like the transplant but we are looking better now.

24 hours makes a big difference once she stops being pissy.

Odd things happening. She is definitely not liking the transplant. The growth rate is down significantly. I have restrained her some more and topped a second time to find a bunch of pistils everywhere...is this an auto when it's supposed to be photo? Or was it the stress? Can I keep vegging to keep her growing in size?

Odd things this week. The plant was on its death bed and it may be coming back to life but I'm not sure if it is now trying to flower cause of the stress? Can I keep it in veg? Its supposed to be a photo Purple Kush not auto. I'm moving the box downstairs as I cannot keep the temps low enough most of the day upstairs where it is now.

What’s the best way to switch my light schedule for 12 hours off at night, 12 on during the day. Currently I’m the opposite, on at night and off during the day to help mitigate high temps but I mixed my box and that not a concern anymore. Can I do 24 hours of dark to switch the schedule?

Friday flower update: week 2 since light flip? Maybe? Not sure how long its been actually flowering now since the transplant. Hairs galore on this one...7 tops as I snipped a bit too much on a topping. I moved the whole box from my upstairs loft to downstairs by the HVAC system and the box seems to run more quietly there and much cooler. 5*f or so. Better humidity too.

Friday(ish) flower update, skipped last week due to travels so here is week 4 of flower.

She is getting nice and thick on the 7 colas and they are smelling nicely. Some orange hairs showing and the frost is building. The leaves are getting a bit of purple to them and I think she is stacking up to be a powerful Indica.

Temps and humidity have been much better since the move downstairs. I still hit 80*F from time to time but nothing more.

Got around to trimming up the bastard Purple Kush plant, tiny little thing but I ended up with almost 23g of some super sticky goodies! Going to sample a bit here right off the dry after work, then cure a bit of it to see how it compares. The seedling dropped its seed shell and the lights are on officially!

Its been a long while since I've written an update here. Life got busy but the weed kept growing. My purple kush got fucked again and started flowering after 4 or 5 weeks shortly after the second topping. I ended up with 4 pretty hefty tops that are taking their time to finish.

I upgraded my light to a combo LED 120w dimmable with 3000k, 6000k, 660nm and IR bulbs. I also added CO2 from above in 2 little jugs. It gets the PPM to around 900. I have also started to blend a few nutrients in very small amounts with the mega crop and I think it has been helping the bulk. The nugs feel rock solid I can't wait to harvest.

Next run will be Mazar. I'm also building a new dual zone cabinet with a 2x2x3 veg chamber at the bottom and 2x2x4-5(tbd) flower chamber up top. Dedicated color spectrum light for each chamber and a nice ACInfinity blower with temp controller. I'm building it from scratch using cabinet quality 3/4" plywood and painting the interior high reflective bright white flat paint. Awair air quality monitor to help keep an eye on the environmentals.

Last run had a great taste but didn't pack much punch. I'm hoping this is a healthier plant as it isn't showing the dying leaves like the last plant was I think I may have had some root rot on that one. I need to check the trichomes but I think I have a few weeks left.

In the pics you will notice some heat and light stress, that all occurred before I got the new light and toned it down to the 64000k lumens it should be at. Also installed the new light a bit higher from the buds.

Also got a bad ass little PH meter to make sure everything is on point when feeding the ladies.

More to come soon!
