After taking a beating from a couple northeasters , then TS ophilia over the weekend and now another northeaster , i have an issue. One limb on one of my plants seems to have suddenly died yesterday. The rest of the plant is fine? No signs of breakage or anything like that. Coastal Virginia Everything appearing dead in the photos are all on the same branch/limb. (Marked in photos) Everything looked super healthy two days ago. Not sure if I Should i remove the limb in question or leave it? What sayeth yall? Help! TIA!

That's kind of the way borers look. The fan leafs start to wilt with the rest looking OK. Look for the stock to start turning brown and maybe a small hole at a branch. If that's what it is you may need to harvest that part of the plant early.
On squash they burrow at the base of the vine. Where do they chew in to cannabis? Also near the ground? Or anywhere? Are you still able to locate them with the orange frass, or does cannabis make differently colored frass?

Do you have an update this morning and what it looks like. Hopefully you didn't chop it, I would think if it's persisting today take it off. Rest of plant will be just fine

Thank you for the reply, she Looks exactly the same this morning. Haven’t chopped yet, was thinking waiting another day or so to chop. Should i chop at base of limb and coat it with some of that black goop made for it stuff?

In OKlahoma they can make a hole anywhere on a plant. Usually big outdoor plants are unaffected by them, but occasionally I will lose a decent size branch. My plants are riddled with them this year.

I definitely have termit colonies local ! Hope its not, if so the whole plant will be toast soon? If not done within a week , maybe ill be ok with just removing the one limb. Thank you

I've had same problem but couldn't find out the cause or culprit... I am leaning towards something ate the roots of said branch and made it die. Grubs come to mind... that's my theory

Yes I would protect the opening, to ensure there's no pests or anything gets in there. Personally I just had three branches break off all I did was put cinnamon on them. Not sure what would make just one branch die other than a crack. Especially if Bud's look healthy just foliage is dying. Do you have another picture

I'd suspect some sort of boring insect
I'd whack that branch and open it up to see what might be lurking
Going to do it

just chopped it , scared ! Lol. Dissected it into three sections and nothing looks out of the norm to me. I hung it in my dry tent for “r and d” , lol

I haven’t noticed any insect damage on the stalk? Have had some very minor thrip issues throughout the grow but seem to be on top of that.
