Is pheno hunting that hard or is working lines harder? The hardest part about pheno hunting IMO is keeping mother plants & clones. It's not hard either more like "chores" Try pheno hunting 13+ wk sativas tho not these cookie gelato hybrids lol

I’ll keep supporting the little guy I guess and people not just in it for the money. You all can keep supporting those guys I guess. If that’s what you want to do, do it. You guys seem to not believe in to each their own. IMO it’s wrong. I don’t sell bud I just smoke for medical reasons. I’m glad they can grow their 500 plants with their million dollar license and get people to buy their stuff without any of the risk.

It's not hard at all, but it definitely costs time and money. You think a mediocre seed pop is gonna price in the market like a well known elite or trendy strain? Some can't even be sold at all. I lose money on non-keeper seed pops all the time.

I'm not in the market nor do I sale so cant speak on that but I get it. No one would be buying my shit bc I grow a lot of sativas lol. I just dont think many of these hype cuts went through 500 plant pheno hunt yet alone 100. I'd like to see proof of that even more so than a HpLVd test lol! Pheno hunting is the new breeding not line working so of course a lot of seeds will be a crap shoot.

I’m sure the people who are on disability because of their chronic illness that actually use cannabis medicinally, that allowed the wave of medicalization to legalization agree with you.
Everyone has the right to purchase and also the right not too. Cannabis marketing is the biggest scam out there. Nobody makes anything original anymore. Everything is copycat. Also there are millions of strains out there that aren’t hyped that will do just as well

I remember 20 years ago when we ordered seed’s online from REPUTABLE breeders. Now these days EVERYBODY is a breeder. Nothing is original, everything is copied. And nobody pops 500 seeds, that’s just a BS lie everybody uses to justify being a so called breeder. You’re just a pollen duster who’s so uneducated about breeding. It’s not HVLD it’s piss poor phenos they are passing around. Another big scam invented by big cannabis

Some do, some don't. Hell I have 50 seed plants going right now and I'm not even looking for a hype cut, just pheno hunting my own pollen chucks to learn and practice breeding. There's definitely lots of people doing huge pheno hunts looking for the next big thing, and some that pop just a single seed and it catches on.

I have a buddy that popped a single bag seed in a batch of grapefruit and it became known as Grapefruit Chem, made popular by PiffCoastFarms. Now my buddy has a seed company and is making fem seeds with it. Good for him! Even seen that Cloney is now offering it for $200 on strainly. If it's real and clean then good for him too. I'm only pissed off if people selling fake or infected cuts.

I can kinda understand the mindset behind a $10,000 clone . Back in the early 80's my little group did our damnedest to find every seed in our weed . It was in high demand and we almost had the market cornered . It was our business and it was a business decision . Every Tom, Dick, and Harry wanted in and we didn't want to make it easy .

That was when I had a financial stake in it . When that ended I started gifting weed, seeds, and clones . Things change .

20 years ago nobody talked about infected clones. They either were healthy and grew great or they didn’t. Most was grower error and who do we blame when sh$t goes south? Everyone but ourselves. Because we are know it all’s and always looking for a scapegoat when sh$t doesn’t go our way. It’s called experience. You have to lose before you win
Now we have breederS and people selling the next best thing, and there’s alway the guy who THINKS he has it. 0 education on breeding but they still keep dusting

The 10k$ clone thing is more of a marketing scheme than anything, they aren’t actually selling the clones for that much, I mean they might, someone might buy into the high dollar hype, but the goal is to get the cut out there and seen as a very high priced cut and then drop the price down, once that cut becomes actually affordable everyone thinks they’re getting something absolutely insane since it once sold for 10k$ (example white truffle, originally 10k$ now 250$). I’ve grown tons of breeder cuts, have Gary Payton now, hate how it grows but people like the smoke. Chimera #3, finicky and low yield even tho beleaf told me the yield was the best of what he had to offer. Chimera #3 once sold for 10k and I’m probably going to dump it lol.
