^^ I grew and smoked SAD from Sweet Seeds. It is a pheno of pre 98 BD and although I did not have BD back then, this stuff is great. I have no doubt it is old BD.
You are the second person to mention that. Think I'ma grab some SAD :)

Another one that I haven't seen for years is the thai buddah, the weed that was wrapped in newspaper and entwined with butchers twine...I believe it may have been soaked in opium though so it's probably a good thing it isn't around any more...

What a trip!
Last time I had the roadkill, it was prob around 1991-92. The sack had some seeds also. I grew what few beans I had outdoor(i didn't trust them for my indoor), and they got ripped off. The sack w/seeds, was scored near the Santa Cruz mountains.

Is that one we can all agree is gone? I thought I had seen some breeders claiming they had it?

If gone.....

HOW does this happen? That strain spread far and wide and NOONE has kept it? Or are these cases of SOMEONE deep in the hills of Calamazoo has it but has never been on a computer or weed forum knowing we deperately need it! LOL

GOD. Think of all the seeds from the 90's sitting in random peoples ashtrays and Junk draws and carpets and couch cushions around the world. Never knowing they could have the golden goose. :)

I'm high. sorry.

New and better stuff comes around. Police raids take place. Clones are mislabeled. Greedy people. There is a whole lot of ways I can imagine plants die out. Think about a new grower naively not cloning, statisically, that's had to have happened.

Take for instance the passenger pidgin. One of the most populated bird species in North America. Completely decimated and successfully eliminated by a single species. Really for no other reason because we could.

All great points TY. Sucks that sometimes "new and better" turns out not to be! :)

Also I imagine the last one (not cloning) was pretty prevalent in the early 90's. We've come a long way in a short time!

Imagine 2073 bud. So many ways this could go.

I also tend to think people often misrepresent the past and glorifying history. This has been shown in many different ways in memory experiments. That could be a part of it, but I do think we are unbelievably crafty bastards of a species. You haven't seen any other species leave our planet yet. We generally have really only begun explaining the world around us. But those points are up for argument.

Whatever happened to Oracle and Bluedot? They used to be all over the Bay Area when dispensaries first opened.

Totally agree. Take the ocean for example. We know relatively nothing about it. New species constantly discovered.
