Strains you Avoid? and Why?

Top of the morning, RIU :bigjoint: Just curious if anyone out there avoids strains when seed, clone or flower shopping? And if so for what reason(s)?

Me personally, I usually avoid Chocolate/Choco/Cocoa strains simply because every time I've had it, it's been bland and just lackluster overall. Exact same goes for Cake and Ice Cream strains, those two I've always found to be GORGEOUS in appearance but lacking in flavor and often power, usually.
*Full disclosure* these opinions are based on commercially purchased flower, I haven't grown these myself yet.

Also not a fan of Cheese strains, although I will admit their high is often stellar. It's just not an enjoyable terp profile to carry on me, or to taste.
*also never grown my own Cheese plant, nor do i intend to*

I was trying to avoid "Cookies" for a while but I gave up on that uphill battle, it's in everything & some of them are fantastic, so whatever.

Purple punch and berry white because they smoke like cardboard and don’t get you very high. Also not a fan of jack, trainwreck, or green crack flavor or buzz. And I’m avoiding cookie polyhybrids because we don’t need any more purple stuff that tastes like vanilla. Oh, and staying away from anything tangie/orange, it never seems to get me high and the orange flavor is pretty boring imo. Guess I’m a hater haha
EDIT: and I almost forgot blackberry kush! All show and no go. no thank you

I can't stand Cheese. Just hated the flavor. Pretty much the same for Haze, which just tasted kinda like wood. I also avoid pretty much anything that's a straight kush. I like a bunch of stuff that has kush bred into it, but don't like it at all on its own. I grew several The White OG from Seedsman and they were great plants; low-maint, huge, pretty, resin factories. Just turns out I don't like weed that tastes like soil drenched in kerosene. Go figure. Also had mostly shit luck with anything that prominently features GDP. For some reason, most of the GDP mixes I've grown ended up tasting like sweet onions. :spew:Maybe 10 years from now I'll have some idea what I'm doing and will retry some of them to see if I just royally sucked at growing them or if I really just hate them.

it's like weed for babies  i let my 4 year old smoke it because he can handle it (KIDDING, i don't have kids). I also have seen it crossed a bunch, I'm guessing solely for the terps?
Hoping it doesn't work out that way for me. Been buying up Greenpoint seeds lately for a change of scenery from Seedsman. Most of what they sell seems to be either Animal Cookies or Purple Punch mixes. I've got several packs of PP mixes from them just waiting until my tents clear up to get started. I always assume a significant % of reviews are morons or shills, but even still, people seem to really dig their PP gear.

Same, looks like they had 3 males and hit the whole line up with them. Stardawg, purple punch and animal cookies. I got the royal chem, city slicker and The sweets from them. I'm actually looking forward to running the sweets.

Purple Punch crosses I've grown out have amazing terps and when it is crossed with the right strain the high is still pretty potent.

I avoid
Gelato - high is pretty weak and all the crosses seem about the same.
Runtz - High is fucking stellar, but I can't stand the taste. I've tried 5-6 and grown 2 runtz crosses and always taste like soap.

The Sweets is on my short-list of beans I wanna get when I have some more $ to play with. Along with Copper Chem, Greezy and Lemon Tree Punch. Right now I have some Purple Bubba Kush, Sticky Icky, Dubble Cookies and Purple Aliens going. Just flipped the Sticky Icky and Purple Aliens last week - so far, so good.

Agent Orange
THC bomb
Both grew huge colas - however they were fluffy-not dense.
The agent orange went directly into the bubble hash box. 2 large plants.
I was much more fussy about the buds that I put into jars. Any larf fluff and trim goes to make hash- only premium buds get jarred

Indica, I’m a heavy user so it’ll make me lazy if I’m on em 24/7.*Some heavy users can smoke Indica all day. I am not one of them.* Never grown an auto I liked but I wish I could’ve ran the original lowryder though. I avoid anything hyped or new until it’s been tested with time as well.

Ever since I heard Jeff Lowenthel on some podcast rave about old school Durban, I've been on a mission to try some. Every time I've tried it, though, it made me paranoid and weirded out. Not a fun smoke for me. Still haven't fully put Durban on the "No" list, but it's for sure on the "maybe try something else instead" list.
