Stunting Plant growth

ok my plants are just about 2 ft and now switching over to flower. ive heard of this hormone that stunts the plants growth in terms of height leaving it to focus all its energy on budding. does anyone kno of it? or something that has the same effect. i dont hav space for 4 ft or higher plant.

I used bushmaster to control my plants height.

i checked my local hydro store for bushmaster and they sell it for $90. i am broke. any other viable options?
