I don't for a minute think it has to do with time.... I think it has to do with ignorance. On the other hand.... it seems very apparent to me that the people who speak and type like this pride themselves on their ignorance. It's like some sort of "badge of hipness".
Fuck the computer, it even gets it wrong. When writing a sentence the checker will usually not make the distinction whether 'their' or 'there' should be used. All of that comes down to knowing, people rely on MS to fix their problems without them putting much thought into what they are doing.

How do you figure its censorship? Its far from it. Its about taking pride in what you do. You should see my reaction when I get a letter from my kids school and it has misused and misspellings in it. Of all places, that is where I expect things done right. How do you expect the younger people to learn the proper way if the teachers can not do it correctly themselves?

As to judging a book by it's cover I think that would apply to how a person "looks". Once they open their mouth the book is open. If they speak like a moron using nothing but slang then it's a book I don't really need to bother with.

Your the parent. If you dont like your child's school, do something about it. It seems like america has alot of people that dont like the way things are run, and complain and bitch about it.But yet, dont do anything to change it and make it better. Hows do you think that effects them? Obviously they'll pick up and learn things from their guardian.
And people feel that the man is keeping them down because they can not find a good job and stuck working in fast food or picking up garbage? I wonder why. I do change the channel when this happens to me, they dont get the job.

Oh I do something about it. I send it back to them and if they would like a response to the letter they sent me, they must send me one that is properly formatted. I even highlight their mistakes. This year a copy goes to the local newspaper and school board.

Because a lot of times us "perfect" people can not understand what the hell is being asked. So who is wrong us or them? The English language has a standard that is designed to be understandable and coherent, it has a purpose. The purpose is communication. It is not communication if people do not understand.
