Has anyone had any experience with these splitters ..they say a 1000 watt magnetic ballast will run two 600 watt lights ..I lov the theory jus haven't heard if this is the real deal or not any info would be appreciated.

not really. from the 4 splitters ive seen, one ballast runs at 600w, the other runs at 400w.
there was quite the difference in light intensity.

would also be good for dual spectrum, mh and hps.

i mean, that could have been a ballast specific issue, but you wont get 1200 watt, no matter what you do.
some ballasts may run closer to 500w each though.

Yep-- HATE THE DAMN THING!!!!
You can use ONLY their bulbs- which are single-spectrum bulbs-- it really F***d up our plants... they became weaker, lower yields, etc... You take 2 600w bulbs run em on a 1000w ballast and have 2- 500w output lights.. again- their bulbs are single spectrum, so IMO- pretty worthless...
IMO- you are better off spending some $$ on a bigger hood (King Cobra/Raptor etc..) and get a wider footprint with your 1000watter and use a good wide spectrum bulb!
JMO!
