Super Organic Stimulator (aka SOS)

I know this is going to sound like I am some sort of company schill pushing the next snake oil and if I were you I would be skeptical about anything praising a product so highly. Let me assure you I have no financial or vested interest in the company that makes SOS. My only motivation for this post is to inform others of what works for me.

OK now that's out of the way, I got a 3 site RDWC / Aeroponic system each site is a 5 gal bucket and the res is a 5 gal bucket. Since it is RDWC all sites including res keep same water level. All the buckets are black and they absorb heat :-( I have been keeping an eye on temps and they are 90 with lights on and at night they go down to 80. So you would expect a salt build up ph fluctuations and worst of all the dreaded slime. Well I dont have any of that and I attribute it this new additive I bought at my hydro shop called SOS (https://sites.google.com/site/strataus/hydroponics). I was skeptical at first when I bought it but let me tell you I am amazed at the difference since I started using it. My roots are almost glowing they are so white. I used to use H2O2 to keep my res in check but I found that my roots would be a dull tan. Since stopping the H2O2 treatments and switching to SOS my plants are growing like never before. Also these plants have been in these netpots for 11 days and this is the root growth. I transplanted them from 2 in netpots to 6 in pots and the root ball was just stuffed into the pot and media mixed in, there was nothing comming out of the bottom of the netpot when I transplanted.... what I am getting at is below is 11 days of root growth.

Has anyone else used this product? If so did you have similar results? Also I think SOS is the same as the Homemade Microbe Brew (see: https://www.rollitup.org/dwc-bubbleponics/361430-how-breed-your-own-beneficial.html) You could probably make this stuff your self a lot cheaper and get similar results.

I just recently started using this in my organic soil grows. Last resupply the hydro shop guys were raving about it. Normally Im skeptical about sales pitches, but these guys have never steered me wrong.

I use 10 ml in each gallon of water mixed in with my nutes at each feeding (the bottle says 20 mls I think, but I am trying to conserve it as it is expensive). . This is the first grow I have used it, and my plants look healthier than previous grows.

Next time around, I may do a better experiment. Two clones, same feeding regimen, one with S.O.S. one without.

But still, get those temps down man! A frozen 2 Liter soda bottle is cheap and it works.

We produce the SOS. Glad you like it. It works equally well in both hydroponics as well as soil. Any questions let us know. The blend is unique! Very difficult to reproduce, even in laboratories. You need the Mother bacteria to be effective.

So I guess it is not helpful for a sterile res???

they advertise that it will break down unusable salt build up and convert it into plant-usable nutrients, I have some and am not quite sure if it made a difference in the sterile res.
it is supposed to be more effective with "mother bacteria" and a food source, i'm sure in hydro this means microbe-friendly nutes
but then again they advertise it to be able to survive in extreme bad conditions.
maybe good to add to compost brew?
here's a page with the details http://www.strata-intl.com/SOS/Super-Organic-Stimulator-p-78.html

I stumbled across a pint sample of this stuff and absolutely love it. Currently using it in my DWC grow, and the plants and roots are thriving. Highly recommended!

Current plants vegged under LED and fixin' to xfer to LED/HID:

Regarding SOS, all my roots have the rot. just added it to a fresh batch and its in aeroponics, no nuts, just sos and water, i didnt even rinse the roots with hydrogen.

can SOS beat the root rot

URGENT!:

also i tried removing most of the rot with my hands so thats what i got going
I used S.O.S. religiously for 18 months, and it does everything they say it does. The only reason I'm not using it now is because I won 10 liters of a product called Terpinator, and the two products are incompatible. To prevent root issues, I've substituted General Hydro's Armor Si, and it works great as well. The roots and buckets stay healthy using that product. It doesn't chew up as much of the inorganic salts as S.O.S., but works well. I still love my standalone DWC buckets and the flexibility they provide.

I'm not sure how well S.O.S. is going to fix your root rot, but please post in here letting us know. You should see improvement, but remember it's always easier to prevent problems proactively rather than react to them after they've caused damage. Both S.O.S. and AmourSi are worth the coin.

I think my new regimen will entail using S.O.S. during early veg and swap over to the other product for flowering.
