Super stealth Bubbleponics,need input (pics)

So I bouilt this sweet stash cabinet originally intended for stashin weed, money, watever, but I got a hunch to turn er into a small grow cabinet. I wanted to just grow one small plant, probly scrog style in a homemade bubbpleponics grow, I can drill a hole in the bottom to rig in CFL's, water stone, fan and watever, but will this space be big enough??? I've seen PC box grows and those arn't that big so why not?? The dimensions are 2.5 ft tall, 17 inches wide, and 6 inches deep.

Also wat are some easy to find alternatives to hydro rock?

You can do anything u put your mind to. I guarantee there are growers on this site that could grow in there. But would grwing in such a small pace be worth the hassle? It'd prob be easier to buy some smoke. Keep it a stash spot. Good carpentry.
