Super Stealth Grow Area

We live in an area that occasionally receives flooding, but my home in particular is built above the flood zone by a good 50 foot. Nonetheless, the house was built with a 3-4 foot crawl space.

Recently I was under the house to do a lil maintenance on the dryer vent, and noticed the hole leading to another section of the house. I used to be to fat to even try to squeeze thru so I've always ignored that section. But not today. I squeezed thru the hole and what do I find? A 20x10 area with a 3-4 foot height that is so concealed by access and etc that light could NEVER be seen outside the area (I took a emergency 10,000 lumen halogen and stuck it next to hole and went all over the crawl space and no light could be seen more than 2 feet away directly at it.) Given there is a ventalation shaft for a/c temperatures are always extremely cool down there too. Also, I grew under there before (not in this particular area of the crawl space) and smell was never a problem because of the dryer venting there and the cool moist earthy smell is overpowering.

Anyways this thread will be dedicated to the work on setting up this area as a grow space, not all of it, but a few sections. As of now I have dug about 4 cubic feet of dirt out of a section of the area to lower the "floor" another foot and still have about 12 more cubic feet to go (at 4 a day, shouldn't take long).

Anyways suggestions and ideas about the set up are welcome. And any questions related to the space are welcome as well, though not all may be answered.

Agree with everyone, gonna suck to do check up and what not on them, but of course any space to grow is nice :)

I would say to dig down as much as you can and as leveled out as you can make it to make as much room as possible. If its deep enough maybe some concrete mix for the floor, and dry-wall for the walls and ceiling. Make sure all the corners are caulked closed. Then create a false wall to hide the entrance into the room.

Maybe run a main wire from the main generator through the floor, or walls into the room for electricity. An exhaust and intake are very necessary. If you get some car batteries you would cut down the energy bill and open some doors to use 1000's of watts.

it would cost more to buy all the car batteries you would need, plus you would need to recharge them sometime, which needs direct power to do, also using your utilities, thus defeating any advantage this would give you.

I believe it is used for large scale grows that are likely to draw attention to the power bill. I have never done it, and never plan to as I use fluoro tubes and CFL's.

Photos will come up later today, gotta go to lowes the damn dryer venting broke again and I'm just gonna buy a whole new piece of venting instead of patching. It is a literal pain to get to the area but in my opinion I'd rather have to put up with the hell to get to them then have them where they currently are (in the master bathroom) just because it has come across a few close calls before with people that shouldnt know. But I'm little, I just gotta wear a dust mask everytime I go under for allergies. Anyways I'm bout to get myself off my ass and head to lowes sooooooo. I will have photos up probably in a few hours. No guarentee tho - I might get to working under there and lose track of time.

get some really big pots so you don't have to water often. I can now see for myself that it is going to be a major pain in the ass to get in there. Sounds like you are motivated enough to make this work. Aside from the access issue, it looks like a great place.

Well the only thing I've bumped my head on is a water pipe down there on the path. Crawl space is pretty high, but you have to crawl. Bought some black painters plastic and placed it on the ground to keep dust away from me as I move back and forth under there dunno if I'll have a grow down there by the end of week or not. Havent really figured that one out. As far as water goes, well I'mma have a water spout under there because area was once a kitchen, so just adding the spout to it. Then essentially setting up a toilet res. under there to hold water and it'll have a switch run near by the entrance to cut on an auto water, that way I dont have to crawl under there.
