get a canvas painters tarp to use as runners under there...keep the black plastic down to block against the canvas pickin up moisture from the ground...in the room you are growing in.line the whiole thing with that black plastic head to toe..the dirt under there is stale and in most cases will hold mold or fungus spores....you want to keep this dirt out of your grow room...the canvas runner is because the black plastic will slide around and kick up dust as you crawl on it...

that looks real good for a grow area. real discreet. Just remember dont tell ANYONE. But it looks great, cant wait to see the final product.

if i were you I would get a "little red wagon" to haul dirt out and supplies in. Could make things easier you could have a rope on the handle to pull it. Also as stealth as this area is I would go all out and make it worth the trouble of putting a settup together. Automation will also be a must.

Dirt was just relocated to the other side of the area since there is no way I can use the whole area. Put up reflective insulation (best thing like mylar round here) today and laid out the black tarp that will cover the area and keep dust out taped this tarp to walls to ensure this. But here are pictures of the area finished for now. 400W HPS has been mounted under, with the one clone I had for current readiness for flower, took 6 clones today.

P.S. Light was raised in pictures to keep from bumping my head

Any way to cut a trapdoor in a closet floor near the area of the growroom? You could fill the closet with junk to hide it. Might make tending a little easier. I know I wouldn't want to have to do that crawl, wearing a respirator,if I wasn't feeling well or had an injury.:peace:

Dont I wish there was, but it is basically the area under a section of the kitchen which is covered in linoleum flooring no area to cut. Its not THAT rough, if I dont feel like climbing over the 2 pipes I have to climb over I can always just go to the other end of the house and crawl all the way back....its just like 25 ft from the entrance so its not that rough to get to, just tedious.

I believe it is used for large scale grows that are likely to draw attention to the power bill. I have never done it, and never plan to as I use fluoro tubes and CFL's.
You would need a continual recharge supply(solar panels, hydropower) also need one very chunky and expensive industrial inverter. You would be looking at a nice 2-5k$ setup just for power supply. Didnt mean to burst you bubble but lol.

You must be young. Or are you just motivated? Most who are watching this thread are just wondering if this is going to be too much of a pain in the ass to be worth it. I'm hoping you succeed.

I was going to say exactly what the guy earlier said about the closet floor. Got a Pantry? You sound like the do it your self kinda guy, your kitchen might look nice with some new tile floors, maybe the 1'x'1 tiles or larger if they make em. Hope it works for you, I might try something similar, under the shed out back. Oh, if you are in termite country make sure you don't have the exterminator dropping in.

Sorry to be butting in , im a new grower but ive been an electrician for a long time and one day i smoked a big ol blunt and sat down and did a digram for some dc/ac power inverters. you can buy them with chargers .....anyway i wont get too detailed but the set up was for 4 1000 w fixtures ...it would cost me approx. 1400 $...the whole set up ....imagine growing with 4 1k hps's....mmmmmmm.

its done everyday......my buddy is running 6600 watts in lights alone....not to mention the a/c fans carbon scrubbers, pumps and other assorted knick knacks......unless you found a way to reduce the draw of electricity then you have something new...and 1400 for 4 1000 watt setups...is a little pricey.....that should cost around 1000 to 1200 tops...

people may say what they may about the difficulties associated with going to and from the growroom but honestly:

a) For a stealth grow and for security's sake, the more out of the way and harder to reach, the better.

b) Dude, you're a lucky motherfucker to have that space. You've got direct access to water and running electricity would'nt be too hard. That's the growspace that dreams are made of :)

yeah dude the fact that you have water would make it very easy to automate.. you'll be the next big thing.. youll have pounds of crop and all you have to do is pay the electric and water bill.
