surprised by Broken stalk

Well, I was trying to lst my one plant and broke the main stalk about 50% through, when it happend I was obviously pissed at my self so I did A little research and find it to be fixable with sum tape and such. Anyways, my plant is super tight knods, like 5 mills between each and there is no possible way to tape it properly so i tried to half ass it the best i could.

When the break happened, about 10 min after it happend. the 2 fan leaves, closest to the break, started to really droop and wilt, but everything else seemed normal. The portion of the stalk behind the break turned brown a bit, maybe brusing i guess? But everything else seem ok at the time.

The next morning the shitty tape job I did let go and the plant was on a angle and i could see the ''v'' where it snaped, but it seemed heathy, those 2 lower leaves dried up but the rest of the plant was ok, seemed to be growing as regular, no browning, new growth ect.. so I left it.

Checked on her the next day still seemed ok new growth no signes of shock and a big ''v'' in the stem?? I was pretty shocked that just those 2 lower fan leaves died and thats it, Having a big open wound in at the base of a younger plant on the main stalk?? crazy

Im on day 5 now and she is still ok. the break is still there, the other side of the stalk is kind of swelling and still has the brown tinge to it but to have nothing covering the cut except a loose piece of tape I am surprised she is still growing and not dead, no drooping and still perky and upright. The plant has 4 sets of knods, about 4 weeks old from seedling to now and has a wicked elbow in the stem

will update

You did the right thing -most people would have panicked. These plants are very resilient and do well after a bent or broken branch. Sometimes they even do better (look at supercropping).

Here is a picture of one of my plants after it healed up from a break so you know what you can expect.

thank you sir, As I look at your pick, I notice the same thing happening to the upper portion of my stock. It looks to be wider with more riges to it then the lower portion if you understand what I meen. Not talking about the nuckle, that hasent formed yet. The lower portion of the stalk is just round, like a normal smooth stem, then it kind of steps up wider and with more definition?? I have read up on the supercropping technique and I understand it. Its just i'm supprised that with no cover on the split of the stem, that she is ok.

In the prosses of breaking the stock, i broke a side knode next to the break, I taped it up but she didint look to be healing it self, almost just cut her off but didint, the leaves where compleatly droopy and starting to go crispy dry.....BUT I was checking it out today, still looked completly dead but there is new groth finding its way out of the tape really suprised, she is a strong one lol

I'm going to be taking clones today also, i'm guessing the smart thing to do is not to take sum from this plant?? A plant can only take so much stress??
