Swaying someone to the light side

This comment is a little misleading hps bulbs have been modified for agriculture and have more blue than a street rated globe. Cmh works better because of spectrum imho and is probably more efficient than cheap leds. Also learning to grow under an hps takes some of the guess work out of it. I run leds and hps in flower, separate tents.

600 watts of hps verses 600 real watts of led.
i realise the spectrum has been 'enhanced' for horticultural purposes but to me the spectrum graph still looks a mess in comparison to the par curve and the led spectrum wouldnt you say?

I don't think hps has a great spectrum as there is a massive green peak. I am all for spectrum optimisation which is why I have a led tent as well. The led tent is mostly diy now and I am comparing growth under ww @ approx 3000k verses pink continuous spectrum with a colour temp around 2000k mainly red with 20% blue and the rest from 380nm to 840 are around 3%. Not sure what the rest do but the plant I have under it is showing a lot less strech than the ww. All plants are growing well so I guess I need to wait and measure the yield.

that's a horrible analogy. Bmw's are piece of shit money pits. I had one, my mom still has one. One of my best friends had one. They cost about $1500-$3000 in maintenance every two months. They are worse than range rovers. Even brand new BMWs constantly break down more than fords. Only German car I would ever buy is a Mercedes.

now hps was never designed for horticulture. Only street lights. Hasn't been improved on since the 90's. Still falls short. CMH kicks the shit out of hps at a1/3 less wattsm the Cree cobs are killing everything. So grow with some quality leds before making another asinine ignorant comment m
You misunderstood the analogy, i have no interest in your opinion on cars or your preferences
i am referring to the personality flaw of the average LED grower

LED growers like BMW drivers think their "shit does not stink" we can include Audi drivers too if you like

i have no problem with current LED technology looks interesting

i have observed that many LED growers grow scrawny looking plants
i do not only equate this to the leds themselves many of these growers would grow scrawny plants whatever lighting these use because they are noobs

happy growing :)

You ever thought to do a comparison grow with the full spectrum leds you have vs the warm white cobs see if you get any noticeable difference in the final product?
