Swiss Cheese, Bagseed - ENGLAND - 2009 Outdoor Grow

Hello, today I started my outdoor grow for this year in North East England. Theres 68 in total, but my friends are growing the other 40 (1 didn't germinate)

19 Swiss Cheese
8 Bag Seed (Unknown Strain)

-

So anyway, after an unsuccessful year last year, I thought I'd give it another go with a more adaptable strain (Swiss Cheese) which is a hybrid of Nirvana's Swiss Miss and Skunk #1 phenotype. I chose this strain after reading a few good reviews.

I also found 8 seeds in a nice bag of weed, so I thought why not?

-

So here's the setup:

Swiss Cheese & Bag Seed germinated using paper towel method

The Bagseed (Germinated for quite a while and were planted with tops out of soil)

Inside the Greenhouse

The Greenhouse

I'll update weekly or if there are any sudden developments and I'll post pics so stay tuned.

All The best man!

Iv got a similar U.K. set up. DO you intend on growing them in greenhouses, or do you put them out when they get big enough?

Good luck,

S.S.

looks good man. i was thinking about building a greenhouse like that for my own but i decided to just let nature work its magic. so far i have 5 healthy plants going good. i have them in pots till they are big enough to go in the ground. I hope you are successful in your endeavors.

So heres an update, 6 days old. I have 21 plants now because unfortunately 6 of them were basically eaten by slugs, so I've took action and made a bug spray made from water, garlic, and chili. I've even placed chopped up garlic cloves in the pots which hopefully will work, I've seen loads of slugs inside and outside of the greenhouse so I've had enough of them.

Anyway, I reckon weve pretty much got a farm growing, 21 of my plants made it past germination, and 36 of my friends made it past.

So here you go (6 days old):

And my friends (5 days old):

Yo Haze! Glad to hear you got a fair few growing!!

Sorry to be a pain but was wondering if you could dispense some advice?

When do you think they are ready to plant into 10ltr tubs? At the moment they are in 3 polystyrene pots and 2in pots the same size as yours?

Mine have been in a propagator for about 4weeks now, started looking good. Iv read loads from other forum users, but you are the only U.K. gorilla grow (as far as i can see)! Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks, S>S

Well it depends how tall they are, after 4 weeks they must be quite a size I imagine. I would move them to the 10ltr tubs if they are around 7 inches tall. However, if you are putting them outside here they might be a bit small, I will be putting these outside after they reach 1ft high.

You must have a big propagator for them to have been in 4 weeks and not been too tall, but I would just say its a definate no for planting them outdoor in the uk if they are under 1ft at least. You may want to consider a greenhouse if you havent got the space for them inside the propagator.

It's nice to see another uk grower on here, be nice to see some pics of your plants to.

What strain you got growing?

why not make a garlic spray instead of just putting lumps in there?
He did, he said he "made a bug spray made from water, garlic, and chili".

Anyways, theres no harm in taking extra precautions. A few cloves of garlic aren't going to ruin the crop..

I think it is great what you are doing with your plants. I am excited to see how your grow turns out. Keep me posted. The more pics you upload, the better.

I shall be intrigued to observe your plant's progress.

I have a load of plants outside in Lincolnshire, I germed 'em then put them under my 400w HPS for 3 weeks then poppped them in my garden.

So I shall be keenly comparing my plants to yours.

Yo haze!

YEa thats when gonna plant, em at least. Maybe make a bigger greenhouse to cover the pots for a while.

Growing some purple widow, and some free seeds that came with the P.W.

10 P.W. and 5 free and split them between to spots. At one spot wasnt fast enough gettin slug pellets down. Whilst at the other there was a wash out. Beginners luck

Now got 3 free seeds (pink pots) and 2 Purple widow (black pots)

This propagator is the "MARK II", plants are about 6 inch with a couple of fresh three fingers. went down the other day and they look almost nute burnd but there has been none added other than the soil. Looked a lil dry tho, so think it was sun burn. The propagator gets so hot WHat do peeps think?

Enjoy the Pics

Anyway, here is a quick update. Me and my friends have joined grow spots, and in total we have got 47 decent looking plants growing so far :D

The two bright green pots on the left are the unknown strain and all the rest are swiss cheese. Approximately 17 are not feminised.
