switch from 12/12 to 10/14 during flowering?

i was wondering if there is any advantage to switch your plants from 12/12 to 10/14 during flowering to mimic the changing of seasons a bit more. I was hoping by doing this it would increase yield a bit more, anyone ever experemented? :eyesmoke:

In the last 20 years no light manufacturer or system grower has ever experimented with anything other than 12/12, you are the first to ask this!

(It doesnt help, sorry :()

Although I have not personally tried modifying the 12/12 in bloom, from my reading up on this topic a couple months back it seems there is a negative correlation to THC potency the more you deviate from the 12/12 cycle (both ways). There is also a debate as to whether reduction in the photo period will result in earlier maturation and reduced flowering time - at the expense of size and potency. This may be strain dependent. I have not found a conclusive study on this, but I would guess there is some truth here. Outside the debated shorter maturation time, most folks likely will not go with the shorter photo period because the tradeoff does not make much sense.

I have not tried to go lower then 12/12 but i have been told to give them 11.5/12.5 to make sure they don't get more then 12 hr's of light,
Ten hr's might trigger them to start dieing ? I don"t know for sure but if your that close i think i would hold off with experimenting ?
