Switching from Hydro to Aeroponics mid grow?

Hello! So I'm a new grower and I wanted to do an aeroponics grow, however I cant find fittings small enough for a 5 gallon tote/bucket I'm hoping to find one soon or make something up on my own this weekend but if i did 1 week or 2 weeks of hydroponics and then switched to aeroponics I wouldn't be doing anything harmful to the plants right? I cant think of why that would be too much of a deal other than some sort of shock.
I would try to do it after my first or second cycle of water, put it in the hydro today, then next week when removing the water, just put the aeroponics system in.

TLDR: Didn't have a proper fitting for my pump , need a few more days. Can I switch from Hydroponics to Aeroponics after a cycle?

put the plants in netpots that are the correct size for your end system, then stick em in the hydro till then. You might shock the roots slightly when you move but it will recover. I use a small ebb and flow to start mine before transplanting to larger. This way all you are moving is the netpot instead of trying to remove the plant + roots and transplant.

make sure you have a short cycle timer for your aero so you don't heat the reservoir up running your pump all the time.

A cycle timer? Is not recommended to run the mister all the time? Do you have any good resources on the matter by any chance?

All my resources from the time are long since dead, I've found this is a pretty good write up though:

iirc I started with 30 sec on 5 min off, and would slowly decrease the off time as the plants got larger to give them more feedings. You might need to play with your system and adjust as needed.

some run the timer 24/7 yes, others dont ,they using any number of different timing. 1/5 ,1/10 etc...

Head over to the Hydroponics section, theres a subsection for aero and bubbleponics and all other forms of hydro

All sorts of ways to run em, I ran into issues with the tank getting too hot, then iron deficiency etc. Was easier just to stop running them pump so often. I had a botanicare 3x3 jet system, not the true HP misters.

Ya i think mostly what you see for aero setups nowadays are LPA rather than HPA.

Im in the process of building a 4 tote + res system using LPA misters. Theres not a ton of info or journals out there currently i started a thread over in the hydro section and got some good advice and help tho.
