Switching Lights (NEED ADVICE)

i have been veggin 4 plants (2 grape punch, 1 Plantnum OG and 1 Mr. Nice guy) under a 400watt MH for about a month now. im not going to be able to get my 1000watt hps untill i get payed at the end of this month (April). So my question is... should i continue to vegg them until then under my MH, or would it be possible to put them into a 12/12 cycle under the MH for a couple weeks until i get my HPS??? would that be a good idea???

Lots of folks flower with MH and/or MH/HPS both at the same time, you can go either way veg longer or flip em under the MH

wait 4 tha bigger harvest always worth it

i have read that until the plant shows sex is it really still veggin. so if that is so, or you want to believe it to be so, then you have about 2 weeks after you flip the switch to get your new light. I think you will be ok with the 400 MH even after the sex shows and the lights are flipped, but that is me.

well they are all clones off of a female plant. i kinda didnt get what you were hinting at. but i think i am just going to keep them veggin until i get my HPS at the end of this month.

thats probably the best idea. HPS is the way to go with flowering and as long as you can accommodate for the height then there is no problem with letting them veg a little longer. Now if time is of teh essences the go head and get a jump start on the flowering. If anything the switch from metal halide to hps during flower will result in the buds growing way faster after the switch. Might actually be a good idea. But then again i never tried it or researched it so ya i think you should do what you say you planned on. Stay High

right on. yea, i dont think height is going to be a big issue... i have 8 foot ceilings. does anyone think they will get that big if i vegg for 2 months??? all the plants are topped and only one is a sativa

No way in hades! you might get 2 meters absolute max; even still you could LST and vegg even longer.

wouldnt you have to have a pretty good size pot to grow in? mine are only 2 1/2 gallons. i know a little weak but i am stuck in a closet for the rest of this month till my roomate moves out. and they've already been veggin for about a month
