A teenage girl has narrowly avoided death after smoking 'synthetic marijuana' that she bought from a gas station and suffering a series of strokes.

Seventeen-year-old Emily Bauer, from Cypress, Texas, has been left with brain damage, paralysis and is unable to see after taking the synthetic weed with friends last December.

It is often sold as incense or potpourri, and is advertised as a legal alternative to weed. While many states have outlawed it, manufacturers have responded by slightly changing the compound so that it can return to shelves.

Emily smoked the drug last December with friends and within 15 minutes, she told her boyfriend she was suffering from a migraine and needed to lay down.

piss off , i can't wait to be able to dye my hair and stick hoops in my face again. that's total freedom, granted she should have smoked weed, but just cause some one has holes like that doesn't means its a bad decision.

uhm.. piercings dont make for bad decisions. I have 20 piercings, and spaced ears and bunch of tattoos doesnt make me a bad decision maker....way to sterotype...

this statement is completely different then what you just said, this was not part of your original statement you said she makes bad decisions because of her piercings not if shes hot or not

Don`t play the twist game with me,...I think that thing was a bad decission, that smoke was too, So yes,to me, she made bad decissions, maybe not to you, but my taste is different than yours !!

What pisses me off is the reason for synthetic pot is due to the prohibition of Cannabis. A harmless drug is schedule one and punishable by incarceration. Lives are wrecked and famlies torn apart yet synthetic is legal and causing great harm and in some cases, death. Yet all they have to do is change the formula to get that shit back on the shelves.

I imagine she thought she was making an intelligent choice since cannabis is illegal in Texas and the stuff that nearly killed her was sold in a convenience store. Way to look out for our well being DEA.

It`s not the DEA,...it`s Congress,...and they have still yet to explain how they can issue tax ticket for cannibis yet make it illegal,...there is a hidden agena. Barrack Obama said, not on my watch to it as well,...and he smoked too !!

It`s F`d up and somehow someone needs to get to the bottom of the high level clearence needed to expose it !!

You`re talking like I denied something,...I did not,..I stand by what I said as my opinion, you don`t like it and are try`n to make it look as if I changed something.

I did not say she makes bad decissions because of her piercing,..I said it was a bad decission, that`s my opinion. Learn the difference !!
