So I don't think I will get a pound on this run but we will see. I just started 12/12 light cycle.

Grow space: 2' x 6'
Lights: 4 cree Cobs and 3 Growmau5 pucks
Strains: Two cheese and 1 phantom og
Medium: coco and perlite, 50/50
Nutrients: Jacks 3-2-1
Water: Tap, has a starting EC of 300
Expectations: high

I'm currently using two 5 gallon buckets to water and mix with. It takes a bit of stirring and crushing to get the Jacks part A to dissolve. Had the idea of filling up the bucket and only dumping in the part A. Gave it a little stir and came back 12 hours later and it was completely dissolved!
Sometimes its the little things.

I have two fans blowing underneath the canopy now and am thinking about adding another one for above the canopy. The two new environment sensors are giving me large differences even though they are 4 feet away.

Do you know why is flat more reflective than satin?
Not really. It absorbs more light than the other paint. Which also changes the spectrum of the light bouncing off the wall.

Was thinking about how to handle temperature/humidity changes on lights on/off. Then I realized I should be running the other half of my closet on an opposite light schedule. This way I'm not trying to cool/heat 800 watts all at once. So I'll run the big 500 watt fixture at night when it will be easiest to maintain temperatures. And then I'll run the 300 watt fixture during the day.
Right now I'm getting a 20 degree temperature drop at lights out (stupid un-insulated closet wall to the garage). But if I turn on the other fixture when the other is off it will help balance out my temp swings. This way I can hopefully avoid having to get a dedicated AC/heater. Will probably have to add another vent from the central air before summer.
Never going to be able to keep a perfect environment all the time...hopefully most of the time though.

Another method that's working for me....
Use large mouth mason jars filled 3/4 with h20 to dissolve the Jacks.
No lids, just stir. Easy to see when completely dissolved.
Separate jars for Part A / Cal-nit.
Add to res/5gal bucket in proper order.

Ecowitt rules!
To keep your gw1000 firmware updated, be sure to occasionally run the "WS View" phone app. It will prompt you when firmware updates are available.

Good luck on the grow!

To deal with slow dissolving powders I purchased an electric kettle for about $20 on Amazon. All my mixing is done in a two gallon bucket.

Heat 1/2 gallon in the electric kettle, dump into bucket, follow up with pouring in the Jacks 5-12-26 powder. Give it a stir for a couple minutes, then dump in the Epsom Salt.

Heat another 1/2 gallon on the electric kettle, pour that in. Now pour in cal-nit.

This process goes by very quickly and the hot water dissolves the nutrients quickly.

I was curious upon finding my lost TDS pen and decided to check against the one I was using. And I think I was on the high side of feeding.

Was feeding at
4.3 g/gal Part A
2.76 g/gal Part B
1.4 g/gal epsom salt

Decided to back it down to
4.0 g /gal Part A
2.5 g/gal Part B
1.4 g/gal epsom salt

Not really sure where to go from here. Keep the pens I have and get calibration fluid? Get new pen and calibration fluid. No idea. Thought I would show off the roots. Using Tribus seems to be good but I've never grown this way so who knows.

This will give you an idea of your meters accuracy....

I feed my coco around 1.6ec. 800ppm on 500scale.
Too high can cause buildup.

Found a cheap combo PH/TDS pen on Amazon. Not sure how good it is but for $36 it might be worth it to try (It has a backlight too). Would be nice to only have 1 meter instead of 2. Kind of weird it uses 9.18 as PH calibration for the high end. I think most are 10?
There are more expensive combo pens of course but I don't wan't to spend $130.

Ordered some calibration fluid. I'm going to keep mixing at 4/2.5/1.4 instead of backing it down to 3.6/2.4/1.4. I think my plants are handling whatever EC it is I'm giving them. Also at this ratio my tap water consistently comes out to a PH of 6.3 so I don't have to use any PH products.
I'm planning on backing down the EC at some point.

Raised the light up twice for a total of 5 inches.

I think the Phantom OG is at the beginning of nutrient burn. Went ahead and lowered mixing ratio to 3.6/2.4/1.4
Which gives me an EC of 1900 (starting with 300 EC tap water). Got the calibration fluid in so I *know its right this time.
Did sort of a mini flush and watered twice the amount I normally do. Will test the waste run-off tomorrow.

Noticed some tip burn on the new growth and my run off water was 3000 EC. Should have been monitoring the runoff a little more closely. Flushed with 5 gallons per plant and got the EC down to 800 and watered with a normal nutrient solution.
